Atellica® DCA SIEMENS Healthineers Preparing to Run an HbA1c QC Test Job Aid 1. Select the appropriate QC control bottle from the refrigerator: • HbA1c control Normal • HbA1c control Abnormal 2. Open the control bottle. Avoid introducing air bubbles 3 into the sample 3. Use dropper cap to extract the QC sample 4. Invert eyedropper with sample and press bulb slightly 5 to form a drop of QC material 5. Insert the tip of the pipette into the QC control drop and completely fill the capillary 6. Wipe the outside of the capillary holder on a lint-free tissue. After wiping the capillary holder, if you notice sample loss or air bubbles, discard the capillary holder and restart the collection method from step one 7 7.
