Preparations Preparations [Nexaris Dockable Table MAQUET Workflow_OLT_part_1-0004.mp3] Before transferring patients with the Nexaris Dockable Table, some preparations must be made. On the following pages, learn more about preparing the equipment, the examination, and the patient. ? Preparing the Equipment The Nexaris Dockable Table is ready for use. For head examinations with lowered head holder: Spine coil is removed; space for the head holder is free. The OR table is ready for use (if necessary, including interface adapter). The correct OR tabletop (transfer tabletop and the correct Transfer Board) is ready for use. Depending on the OR table used, either the foot-end Transfer Board stop plate or the docking adapter is inserted. 1 1 1 2 2 2 1 Please select the numbers to learn more. To avoid loop formation, always ensure correct patient positioning. Always position the patient on the Transfer Board so that the patient's arms are aligned with the torso and ensure that hands, arms, and legs do not touch the body-skin or form loops (minimum distance: 5 mm). PRIOR to the surgical procedure, position the patient on the Transfer Board in a way that is suitable for the MR scan. Keep in mind that the position cannot be altered after draping.. To avoid collisions, prior to positioning the patient, ensure that the patient with all necessary accessories applied, for example, coils, clamps, navigation adapters etc., will fit into the magnet bore. [ndt_maq-wfl_1_11_4.wav] Please do not exceed the maximum load of the head holder. The head holder and pins may break, resulting in severe patient injury! Never lean on the head holder! Please also consider the risk of severe patient injury due to anaphylactic shock. This can be caused by contact of injured skin with surfaces of the system, which may cause mild to severe allergic reactions. Please always cover injured skin with bandages or drapes to avoid contact with the system surface. 4 WARNING Maximum load of the head holder Please do not exceed the maximum load of the head holder! Lowered head holder may collide with the Nexaris Spine 36 To avoid severe patient injury Prepare the tabletop and other equipment depending on the planned examination. For head examinations: If you need to lower the head holder, remove the Nexaris Spine 36. Remove all equipment on the Nexaris Dockable Table under the Transfer Board to avoid drapes or other accessories from getting caught. For whole body examinations: Use the Nexaris Spine 36. Never lower the head holder if the Nexaris Spine 36 is positioned. Safety Information for Operation and Workflow [ndt_maq-wfl_1_29_1.wav] Please note that the lowered head holder may collide with the Nexaris Spine 36. To avoid severe patient injury Please always prepare the tabletop and other equipment depending on the planned examination. For head examinations: If you need to lower the head holder, remove the Nexaris Spine 36 first. Remove all equipment on the Nexaris Dockable Table under the Transfer Board to avoid drapes or other accessories from getting caught. For whole body examinations: Use the Nexaris Spine 36. Never lower the head holder if the Nexaris Spine 36 coil is positioned. [ndt_maq-wfl_1_29_2.wav] The head holder may also collide with the Tim coil interface. To avoid severe patient injury Please connect the Tim coil interface only after the patient has been transferred from the OR table to the Nexaris Dockable Table. [Nexaris Dockable Table MAQUET Workflow_OLT_part_2-0024.mp3] During the operation of the table, anticipate vibrations or unbalanced weight. Avoid vibrations during transfer or docking. Always move the Nexaris Dockable Table and the Transfer Board slowly and carefully. Be particularly careful with children or infants, as the load on the Transfer Board might be unbalanced. In this case, manually support the Transfer Board during transfer. [Nexaris Dockable Table MAQUET Workflow_OLT_part_2-0025.mp3] Please always pay attention to the horizontal movement of the Nexaris Dockable Table! In order to avoid injury to the patient and other persons: Please ensure that there are no obstacles between the table and the magnet.. For example no protruding or overhanging body parts, hair, clothing or straps, Also ensure that additional equipment, for example I-V tubes, respirator or ECG, does not get caught. They need to remain safely in and on the patient when moving the tabletop. Secure the patient’s arms and legs with straps, so that the patient is not caught between the tabletop and the magnet cover. Observe the patient visually and acoustically. In the event of hazardous conditions, press the Table Stop button. [Nexaris Dockable Table MAQUET Workflow_OLT_part_2-0026.mp3] To avoid severe patient injury, please always use the table lock switch to avoid unintended movements during interventions. Also ensure that no fingers or other objects are in between the interface box and the movable tabletop during horizontal movements. 5 Unintended table movements To avoid severe patient injury: Always use the table lock switch to avoid unintended movements during interventions.
