MR Essential Scanning - AU/NZ

MR Essential Scanning - AU/NZ

This course provides an overview of the fundamental principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), with a key focus on the Siemens MR user interface. Combining a series of lectures and practical demonstrations using Siemens MR simulation software, participants are equipped with a foundational understanding of key MRI principles, preparing them for practical applications and further learning in the field.

Topics covered include:

• Review of key MR physics principles and image formation

• System hardware components, including use of gradient coils for spatial localisation

• Basic spin echo, turbo spin echo and gradient echo sequences

• Image contrast: T1, T2 and PD weighting

• Relationship between spatial resolution, SNR and scan time

• Review of key sequence tab cards and imaging parameters for Numaris XA based software

• Key MR safety considerations and SAR management

This course is recommended for radiographers who are new to MR imaging or those new to the Siemens MAGNETOM MR platform wishing to increase or refresh their knowledge of MR imaging based on our latest software user interface.

We strongly recommend attending this course prior to attending the MR Advanced Scanning course, regardless of experience level.

This training is approved for CPD Credits with the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
