Hardware Components Overview Monitor Trolley C-arm Image Intensifier Single Tank Main Unit C-arm System Horizontal Support Arm Lifting Column Hardware Components Overview cios-select-ii_va21_hwovw_2-1_en.mp3 The Cios Select consists of the C-arm system with the main unit and the monitor trolley. The C-arm system is where imaging occurs. On the monitor trolley, you register patients, review and postprocess images, and document the examination. In a first step, we will focus on the C-arm system, which includes the C-arm with the image intensifier and the single tank, as well as the main unit. The C-arm and the main unit are connected by the horizontal support arm and the lifting column. Please select the orange markers to find out where to find each component. Recognize the System Components ? C-arm Components Image Intensifier (I.I.) Dose Measuring Chamber (DAP Meter) Anti-scatter Grid (Optional) Image Intensifier Laser-Light Localizer (Optional) Handle for Image Intensifier Handle for Manual Movement of the C-arm Image Intensifier with Grid Single Tank With X-ray Tube Unit and Integrated Collimator C-arm Integrated Dose Measuring Chamber (DAP meter) Integrated Image Intensifier Laser Light (Optional) C-arm Components cios-select-ii_va21_hwovw_2-2_en.mp3 Let’s take a closer look at the C-arm. On the C-Arm you can find the image intensifier with the handles for positioning, and the single tank with the x-ray tube and integrated collimators. Please select the tab arrows on the right to learn more about individual C-arm components. Image Intensifier Laser-light Localizer (Optional) Depending on the configuration of your Cios Select, you can use the laser-light localizer as a positioning aid. To activate or deactivate the laser light, press this key on the C-arm keyboard. If there is no laser light installed the key on the control panel has no function. The laser light will automatically switch off after 5 minutes. Keyboard on Main Unit Anti-scatter Grid (Optional) Use the anti-scatter grid to filter scatter, that is created by the patient and other objects, out of the image to improve image quality. As in pediatrics the grid can be removed since the dose awareness is high and the scatter created by small patients is low. It is recommended to remove the grid for patients up to 7 years of age. Please keep the grid inserted for all other cases to maintain sufficient image quality. Please note: Damage to the grid can reduce image quality. Dose Measuring Chamber (DAP Meter) The dose measuring chamber, also called DAP meter, is integrated in the X-ray tube housing and determines the dose area product (DAP) and air kerma values. The cumulative patient data is displayed during the examination on the monitor trolley on the left monitor as long as the patient is open. Dose Area Product Air Kerma Rate Cumulative Air Kerma Value 0.4 mGy 00:00:29 hh:mm:ss 0.8 mGy/min Image Intensifier (I.I.) The image intensifier (I.I.) provides the option to implement X-ray for intraoperative imaging. This allows the operator to use a wide range of applications. The anti-scatter grid attached to the image intensifier further affects the image quality. Image Intensifier with Grid ? Horizontal Support Arm and Lifting Column Horizontal Support Arm and Mechanical Brakes Lifting Column Horizontal Support Arm Lifting Column Mechanical Brakes Horizontal Support Arm and Lifting Column cios-select-ii_va21_hwovw_2-3_en.mp3 The horizontal support arm and the lifting column are used for positioning the C-arm.
