First verify that a full shut down is needed on your Atellica system. Select number one on your screen to learn about this step. PCC Restart: 10-15 minutes NOTE: Refer to Online Help for information on PCC Restart Full shut down: 30 – 40 minutes Required for troubleshooting Recommended by Remote Service Center Verify Full Shut Down is Needed step 1 Only complete a full shut down when the system requires it for troubleshooting, or when recommended by the Remote Service Center. The shut down procedure takes 30-40 minutes, depending on system configuration. In some cases, a faster procedure, such as a PCC restart, might be appropriate. If the system will be immediately powered back on after a shut down, continue to Step 3. However, if an IM analyzer will be off for more than 30 minutes, unload and store reagents. If a CH module will be off for more than 2 hours, unload and store reagents. For calibrators and QC that will remain in the SH while the system is off for an extended amount of time, refer to the calibrator and QC material IFU for stability information. Analyzer icon colors: Standby: Green Stopped: Red Off: Grey All connected modules must be in standby, stopped or off state Shutting Down the System Step 3 The first step in shutting down the system is ensuring all connected modules are in standby, stopped or off state. The status of each module can be quickly identified by its color on the home screen. Standby is indicated with green, stopped is red and off is grey. step 3 Navigate to your home user screen to check module status. Select the appropriate modules to change status. Select the IM module on your screen. Notes: IM: If the system is processing samples, select the stop button at the drop down menu. Select stop on your screen. Notes: Stop processing: At the pop up window, select stop to wait for processing to complete or stop immediately to terminate all tests in process. Select stop on your screen. Notes: Stopped IM: Once the module is stopped the icon will turn grey. When all modules are in standby, stopped or off state, you can proceed to the next step. step 3 To shut down the system, first select the User Menu button. Select the lab manager user icon at the top of your screen. step 3 Next, select the Sign Out button; select the key icon on your screen. Step 3 Confirm by selecting Sign Out. Select the key icon on your screen. step 3 Then select Yes to confirm. Select yes on your screen. step 3 At the Login screen, select Shutdown. Select shutdown on your screen. step 3 Select Yes to shutdown the system and wait for all modules to shutdown. Select yes on your screen. Shutting Down the System CAUTION: Powering off a module before the green light is off can cause data loss Check indicator lights Green light will NOT be visible Check SH and SHC computers step 3 Wait for all modules to shut down. Ensure the software on each module is shutdown by checking the indicator lights. Each computer’s green power light will no longer be visible. Please be aware that powering off a module before the green light is off can lead to data loss. Shutting Down the System step 3 Locate the back of the Sample handler and Sample handler connect computers. This is where you will check to ensure the indicator lights are not green. Next, we will check the CH and IM computer indicator lights. Locate the CH and IM computers through the air vents on the back of the modules. Be sure these lights are not green. Now that you have confirmed all indicator lights are off you can proceed to step 4. When the primary user interface no longer displays, it is time to power off all modules by flipping the power switch on the back of the modules. Select step 4 on the screen to learn more about turning off power switches. Turn Off Power Switches Sample Handler Prime Sample Handler Additional Chemistry Analyzer Chemistry Analyzer IM Analyzer IM Analyzer step 4 Before we discuss the order of powering off your Atellica Solution; let’s review the components of this configuration. It's most important to identify the Sample Handler Prime first. The Sample Handler Prime is always the sample handler with the computer attached and is located closest to the analyzers. In this Atellica solution the Sample Handler Prime is located here. A Sample Handler Additional or the Sample Handler connect are located next the Sample Handler Prime but are not closest to the analyzers. Keep in mind the Atellica Solution can have a Sample Handler Additional or the Sample Handler connect but not both additional components. Now let’s identify the analyzers. Chemistry analyzers are not as tall as the Immunoassay (Immuno-ass-say) analyzers. In this system there are two chemistry analyzers located in the center of the configuration. Finally, we have two of the taller IM analyzers on the far right of this configuration. Turn Off Power Switches: Analyzers Analyzers & Decapper 1 power switch each Located on back of module step 4 All of the analyzers and Decapper have 1 power switch each, located on the back of the modules. Here is the back of the chemistry module and the location of the power switch. Turn Off Power Switches: Decapper step 4 Now, let’s look at the decapper. The power switch and the decapper pressure valve are located together on the back of the module. When shutting down the decapper, the first step is to close the pressure valve by turning it clockwise into a vertical position. Then turn off the power switch. Turn Off Power Switches: Sample Handler Connect step 4 The sample handler connect has 3 power switches on the back of the unit. When it’s time to power off the sample handler connect, begin by switching off the computer power switch on the far right and wait 30 seconds. Next, switch off the +48VDC power switch in the center and wait 30 seconds and finally, switch off the +24VDC switch on the far left. Turn Off Power Switches: Sample Handler Step 4 This is an example of a Sample Handler power switch. Only power off the main switch that is highlighted on the screen when it’s time to power off the Sample Handler. Sequence SH Additional/Connect Configurations: Modules (including Decappers) SH Additional or SH Connect SH Prime Recommended Sequence: Begin with module farthest from Sample Handler Prime Continue one by one in order of connection (including Decappers) Sample Handler Prime is always powered off last Turn Off Power Switches step 4 When turning off the power switches to each module, follow the recommended sequence. Start by powering off the module farthest from the Sample Handler Prime and then proceed one by one to the other analyzers, including Decappers if included in your configuration, in the order they are connected. The sample handler prime is always last to be powered off. If your configuration includes a sample handler additional or sample handler connect, first, power off all modules, second power off the sample handler additional or connect and last, power off the sample handler prime. Turn Off Power Switches Sample Handler Prime is LAST step 4 In this example configuration the Atellica Solution would be shut down in this sequence: begin with the module furthest from the Sample Handler Prime, proceed in the order of connection, including decappers if appropriate. Once all the modules are addressed, power off the Sample handler additional and then the Sample handler prime. Sample Handler Sample Handler & Sample Handler Additional Sample Handler Connect Turn Off Power Switches Step 4: System Examples Let’s practice shutting down an entire Atellica Solution line. Select the type of configuration you would like to practice shutting down. These examples do not include powering off the decapper but remember that if your configuration includes a decapper it is addressed in the order of sequence as discussed previously.
