Be sure to use your Operator’s Guide for further information.” - Leo Getting Started Hi there! My name is Leo, and I’m here to guide you through this course. We will navigate through the different quality control screens, enter new lots of QC, and review and validate results. We’ll end with a short assessment to check your understanding. ? Select Quality Assurance Quality Control Screen Let’s get to the quality control screen. From the home screen, select Quality Assurance. Select Quality Assurance on your screen. ? Select Quality control Quality Control Screen Then, select Quality control. ? Select these menus to learn more about each screen Quality Control Screen Main: Here is the quality control screen. To view QC Reports, Details, Radars, and L.J. Graphs, a control sample must be selected. In this example, we have the first sample selected. Select the menus at the bottom of this screen to see each one and learn more. QC Reports: The QC Reports screen displays the results table of the selected control level. This screen contains information about the control blood sample and control blood results details for each parameter. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Details: Selecting Details brings you to the Control Run Result screen. This screen shows you the results of the control blood sample run and contains information about the control blood sample, RBC and platelet results and matrices, WBC results and 5 DIFF matrix, and alarms. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Radars: The Radars screen displays the radar graphs corresponding to the control blood sample. This screen contains information about the control blood sample, radar graphs showing which parameters are within range or out of range, and alarms. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. L.J. Graphs: The L.J. Graphs screen displays the history of the control blood sample. This screen contains information about the control blood sample and Levey-Jennings graphs showing the history of each parameter. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. L.J. Details Displays the Control Run Result screen Contains the following information: Information about the control blood sample Results and matrices (RBC/PLT) Results (WBC) and 5 DIFF matrix Alarms Note: You can also access the Radars screen from here. QC Reports Displays the results table Contains the following information: Information about the control blood sample Control blood results details for each parameter Note: You can also access the L.J. Select Logs Access XB Patient Quality Control (also known as XB) is used to detect any deviation in the results using patient data only. You may need to consult the XB menu if an XB alarm appears. Let’s get to the XB menu. From the home screen, select Logs. ? Access XB Access XB Select the dropdown and filter by Alarms. Select the XB alarm. From this screen, you can view the Batch Details screen (which displays results of the selected batch) or the Targets screen (which allows you to reset the XB values). Refer to the Operator’s Guide to learn more about XB. ? Select Repeatability Perform Repeatability Test The Repeatability Test is based on a set of results obtained from consecutive analyses of the same fresh normal blood sample. Let’s perform a repeatability test. From the Quality Assurance screen, select Repeatability. ? Perform Repeatability Test Perform Repeatability Test The Repeatability screen contains statistics for each parameter and results for each run. To perform the test, select Start Repeatability. Enter the sample ID in the dialog box that displays, and then select Validate. Gently and thoroughly mix the sample. Run the sample at least 10 times to obtain reliable results. The instrument calculates the statistics for each parameter. Check the standard deviation to make sure the repeatability test is successful. The CV is automatically displayed in red if it is higher than the CV defined in the Settings menu. Note that there is a risk of erroneous results if the specimen is not continuously mixed between each analysis. ? Create and Modify a Control Lot Control Lots: Create automatically Create manually Modify Select the button below to walk through these three options. Archive a Control Lot Level Archive a Control Lot Level Let’s archive a control lot level. From the Quality Assurance screen, select Quality Control. Select the control level you want to archive. Select Archive in the toolbar and select Confirm. ? Review and Validate Control Results After quality control has been run, you can validate, delete, print, send or export results. Select the tab arrows to learn more about what to do with your control results. Manually Validate Results Delete Results Print Results Send Results to Host Export Results Review and Validate Control Results Main: When analyzing your control results, you can manually validate, delete, print, send, or export the results. Select the tab arrows on the right to learn more about each option. Manually Validate Results: From the Quality Control screen, select the control result you want to validate from the Active QC list. Select Details or Radars in the toolbar. In this example, we’ll select Radars. Select Accept in the toolbar. The control result is now validated. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Delete Results: From the Quality Control screen, select the control result you want to delete from the Active QC list. Select Details or Radars in the toolbar. In this example, we’ll select Radars. Select Reject in the toolbar. The control result is now deleted and the control status is re-evaluated without this control result. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Print Results: From the Quality Control screen, select the data you want to print from the Active QC or Archived QC list. Select Details, Radars, or L.J Graphs in the toolbar. In this example, we’ll select Radars. Select Print in the toolbar. Then, confirm your action. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Send Results to Host: From the Quality Control screen, select the data you want to send from the Active QC or Archived QC list. Select Details in the toolbar. Select Print / Send in the toolbar. Then, confirm your action. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Export Results: Control, calibration, repeatability, and blank results are all Quality Assurance results that will export. From the Quality Assurance screen, select Export. You’ll be prompted to select a period for the results to export and validate. Insert the USB flash drive. Select Confirm. When the export is complete, remove the USB flash drive and select OK. Select the X at the top of the page to return back to the course. Export QA Results Note: Select the X to return back to the course. Send Results to Host Note: Select the X to return back to the course. Print Results Note: Select the X to return back to the course. Delete Results Note: Select the X to return back to the course. Select Import in the toolbar, and select Confirm when prompted. Select Validate in the toolbar. ?
