NEA Tom Alpha Reconstruction Training Inline Results Multi Energy with the introduction of Somaris 10 and Recon and Go inline results was added to the workflows from the operators console. Inline results is an automatic reconstruction method that combines reconstructions with post processing techniques and are done automatically with 0 clicks from the operator. Inline Results uses the powerful landmark detection technology called Alpha, which stands for automatic landmark Parsing of human anatomy. Inline results can be found in the Recon parameter categories Recon and Go, and inline options at the single acquisition Workplace. Inline Results has many features and options available for use. There are four main categories and each category has multiple options available. The main 4 categories we will discuss are. Parallel. Ranges, Radial ranges, applications and multienergy. The last category of inline results is multienergy. Multienergy reconstructions use the same alpha technology of parallel and radial ranges giving the same results, but now have a dual energy application applied. These have images that are reconstructed from the low and high energy part of the spectrum and are then combined to visualize this information. These reconstructions can be used for non contrast and contrast exams. Multi energy results are available for dual energy parallel ranges, dual energy radial ranges and a spectral post processing Recon referred to as SPP. The application classes currently available for multi energy reconstructions are Mono, Energetic Plus, Virtual, Unenhanced Liver, VNC, Kidney, Stone, Lung Analysis, and Gout. The Mono Energetic Plus application class can be used for both dual energy parallel and radial ranges. This application class simulates images that are equivalent to images scanned with a single photon energy beam, depending on the energy Kev. By changing the energy Kev, you can enhance the contrast between different materials and is available for Quantum plus scan modes only. The possible result data sets include Mono Energetic Plus, which provides Mono energetic Plus images. And 3D which provides a thin slice series for 3D post processing. This is also a mono energetic plus series in thin slices. The user may also select both options if needed. The next application class. That is available is. Virtual unenhanced and is only available for Dual energy parallel ranges Virtual. Unenhanced creates virtual non contrast VNC images. By subtracting iodine from the quantum plus spectral data sets, it can be used to visualize noncontrast organs without the need for an additional noncontrast scan. VNC is not recommended for the analysis of a potentially fatty liver, and it can be used for baseline density measurements. The virtual unenhanced Application class has four possible. Data sets. Available for reconstruction. B&C provides images with contrast media removed. Iodine provides images of just the iodine overlay. Fused provides images of fused CT data with a colored iodine overlay and 3D which. Again. Provides thin slice results in virtual, unenhanced and iodine for 3D post processing. Multiple selections are again available. Another application class is Liver VNC, and again is only available for dual energy parallel ranges. Liver VNC also creates virtual noncontrast VNC images by subtracting iodine from the Quantum Plus Spectral data sets. It can be used to visualize a noncontrast liver without the need for an additional noncontrast scan, even if there are irregular fatty infiltrations or necrotic areas of the liver. And it can be used for baseline density measurements. Note Liver VNC should only be used to visualize the liver the Liver VNC application class. Has four. Possible data sets available for reconstruction. VNC provides images with contrast media removed. Iodine provides images of just the iodine overlay. Fused provides images of fused CT data with a colored iodine overlay. And 3D which? Again. Provides thin slice results in virtual, unenhanced and iodine for 3D post processing. Multiple selections are again available. The next application class is kidney stone and is available for dual energy, parallel or radial ranges. The Kidney Stone application visualizes the chemical differences between kidney stones. This is done by decomposing the kidney stone into the base materials. Tissue, uric acid and oxalate, calcium, stone, any potential kidney stones will be analyzed and requires a non enhanced CT scan all. Patient motion and breathing should be avoided during the scan. The Kidney Stone application class has four possible. Data sets available for. Reconstruction. Mono Energetic Plus. This provides mono energetic plus images. Classified Gray provides images. Of any detected materials, but in grayscale fused. Provides colored. Images of Fused Mono Plus and. Classified materials displayed in color and 3D, which again provides thin slice results in mono, energetic and classified Gray for 3D post processing. Multiple selections are again available. The Gout application class is available for dual energy, parallel or radial ranges. The Gout Application class allows for detection and visualization of Gout. This application class allows you to distinguish between uric acid, bone, bone marrow and contrast agent. Uric acid and contrast agent are highlighted with different colors. The Gout Application class. Has four. Possible data sets available for reconstruction. Mono Energetic Plus This provides mono energetic plus images. Classified Gray provides images. Of any detected materials but in. Grayscale fused provides colored. Images of Fused Mono Plus and. Classified materials displayed in color and 3D, which again provides thin slice results in mono, energetic and classified Gray for 3D post processing. Multiple selections are again available. The last application class is Lung Analysis and is available for dual energy parallel or radial ranges. The Lung Analysis application class is available for QUANTUM PLUS scan modes only and combines 2 application subclasses. Lung PDV Perfused Blood Volume. This is used to visualize and quantify the iodine uptake in the lung parenkima lung vessels. This is used to visualize the iodine enhancement in pulmonary vessels. Different colors are assigned to differentiate between perfused and nonperfused pulmonary arteries. The iodine distribution within the lungs is displayed as color masks overlay in the result images. You may select either of these individually or select them together to show both results in the same image. Let's now discuss the possible result data sets for each of the subcategories. Each subcategory has three possible data sets available for you to reconstruct. These are iodyne fused in 3D. Depending on which subcategory you have selected, the resulting images will vary. We will start with Lung PBV. First is iodyne, which has images of the iodyne overlay in grayscale. Next is fused, which results in colored images of fused mono plus and iodine, demonstrating lung perfused blood volume results and 3D which again provides thin slice results for 3D post processing of both mono energetic plus 70 Kev and iodine multiple selections are again available. Moving on to the subcategory of Lung vessels. Here you can see the same three data set options are available, only this time the resulting images will vary to demonstrate the lung vessels. First is iodine, which is a classified grayscale series differentiating between perfused and non perfused pulmonary arteries. Next is fused. Where? Colors are assigned to differentiate between perfused and non perfused pulmonary arteries. The iodine distribution within the lungs is displayed as color masks overlay in the result images and 3D which again provides thin slice results for 3D post processing of both mono energetic plus 70 Kev and an iodine classified series. Multiple selections are again available. The last subcategory is. Lung PDV. Plus vessels. Again, the same three data set options are available and will now combine. All results. Into the same series, First is iodine, which includes images of iodine. Overlay grayscale with colored perfused and nonperfused pulmonary vessels. Next is fused, which gives colored images of fused, mono, plus and iodine demonstrating lung. PBV results. With colored, perfused, and nonperfused pulmonary vessels and three. D Which again. Provides thin slice. Results for 3D. Post processing, but now of all three results of mono, ENERGETIC plus 70 Kev, iodine, Lung, PBB and a classified Gray. Series of the vessels multiple selections are again available. The last category under Multi energy is SPP. An SPP data set gives you the option to use the interactive spectral imaging feature. This feature can be used in CT View and Go and also sing Go via. This feature uses a single post processing series in the file format Spectral Post Processing SPP that contains all the necessary information for dual energy workflows and reconstructions. With an SPP dataset, high and low KV recons are no longer necessary. This Recon contains all the necessary information for the high KV spectral data and the low KV spectral data. This data set improves the clinical workflow and interactively provides different mono energetic plus series at all available Kev levels and contains certain dual energy representations such as virtual noncontrast VNC or iodine in view and go. And SPP for routine noncontrast and contrast exams has two possible result data sets. Conventional CT which is a conventional CT reconstruction of a mono energetic plus image with the Kev level that is determined by the care Kev optimized for setting and mono energetic plus which has mono energetic equivalent image reconstructions with flexible Kev. And lets you select which level is desired. This SPP dataset when used with the interactive Spectral Imaging in view and go or with MM reading on single via the following results can be created and easily viewed mono, energetic plus VNC iodine and fused VNC iodine. An SPP dataset when performing an angio study can also be reconstructed as in VSPP for vascular spectral post processing. A VSPP has the two previous result datasets of conventional CT and mono energetic plus, but now a third dataset is possible with any angio study. This dataset is monopure lumen. And provides mono energetic equivalent images on which the calcium plaque is subtracted from the vessels. To be able to use this option in the interactive spectral Imaging feature, you will need to select the Monopure Lumen dataset under the Application class dropdown. If you. Have selected the Monopure Lumen. The following Spectral results are available for the ISI Mono Energetic Plus Pure Lumen VNC. Iodyne and Fused VNC Iodyne with an SPP dataset. The interactive spectral imaging function can be generated on the Somaris 10 scanner or Singovia using either view and GO or MM reading. The following spectral results series can be created and easily viewed. Mono, Energetic Plus Pure Lumen and Geo exams only VNC Iodyne. And fused VNC iodine. To use this function click on the start SPP interactive text in the SPP image. You may then right mouse button click the interactive text to open and switch between the different. Options quantum lung lobe quantification. This option contains a lung lobe segmentation algorithm that allows you to break down the results of a lung analysis to the individual lung lobes. The lung lobes are displayed in different colors. The measurements are broken down and summarized in a table on the last image of the. Recon, the requirements for this feature are it is only available with the Quantum Plus scan mode. You need to select a multi energy DE parallel range. You can then select the application classes of Mono Energetic Plus, VNC or Lung Analysis with Lung PBV for quantification.
