Ysio - Max Touch - Top Alignment
On the lower portion of the Max touches a button called top alignment. Top alignment allows you to change the center of the X Ray beam based on top to bottom collimation. To use top alignment, we simply activate the icon. Turn on the collimator light and then collimate the beam from top to bottom. When you do, it will automatically raise the center of the X Ray beam. The more closely you Collimate top to bottom, the higher it centers the beam. Here's a great clinical example of when you might want to use top alignment. If you're doing a PA chest X Ray on a very small child standing up at the wall stand. Rather than have the beam centered to the middle of the patient's abdomen, if you collimate the beam top to bottom, you now have the beam centered through the patient's thorax. It reduces radiation exposure to the patient and improves image quality.
