VA21D MULTIX Impact Family FD Calibration Video
This video demonstrates how to perform FD calibration on the MULTIX Impact C and MULTIX Impact systems with VA20D and upcoming software versions.
This video will demonstrate how to perform FD calibration. To perform FD calibration, ensure you are logged in with the user account which has the FD calibration permission. Then access the service mode of the image station. Move the tube stand away from the tabletop and position the tube pointing towards the floor. Place the detector on the floor in the landscape position. Center the detector in the beam field and columnate the beam field to fully cover the active detector area. Please note, put the detector on a plastic foam sheet, otherwise the floor may be too cold and cool down the detector. Set the tube to maximum S ID, which should be at least 150 centimeters, but 180 centimeters is recommended. Use the retractable ruler to measure the set Sid. Be sure to make a note of the Sid as it will be needed for calibration. Insert the point 6mm copper filter on the user interface. Click FD Calibration. Please wait a moment while the system verifies the detector parameters and warms up. Enter the measured Sid in the current value box and click OK. A confirmation dialogue appears. Ensure that the 0.6mm CU filter has been inserted and click OK again. A confirmation dialogue appears. Turn on the calibration switch and click OK to continue. The calibration switch can be found on the backside of the generator on off console. Ensure that nobody is in the examination room and click Begin to start Automatic X-ray release. The calibration is then started. Warning Do not turn off the calibration switch When the calibration is in progress, wait until the calibration is finished. A total of 13 images will be taken and then another confirmation dialogue will appear. When the calibration is complete, click OK to save the calibration results. Wait until the calibration results have been saved successfully. A confirmation dialogue will appear as an indication that the results have been saved. Please note make sure to repeat the detector calibration by clicking Long Time Exposure before rebooting the system, otherwise the calibration will fail. Then click OK and reboot the entire system to activate the new files. You can also click on FD management to check if the new calibration due date has been updated. Lastly, it is very important to turn off the calibration switch for normal operation of the system or else radiation is not possible. If for some reason the calibration does not succeed, the previous calibration remains valid.
