To begin this exercise we will start on UniPOC’s Dashboard screen. Right click on the instrument you want to connect to in the Location Tree. In this example let’s select the RAPIDPoint® 500, device 12345. Please select the RAPIDPoint 500 device 12345 to continue. Note: The Remote Control option is only visible for instruments that support remote control functionality. Select Remote Control. Blank unipoc_remoteaccess_2.mp3 Then, select Remote Control. Please select Remote Control to continue. Select Controls. Text Entry unipoc_remoteaccess_3.mp3 If prompted, enter the remote password. Once entered, the Remote Control screen opens with the connection status displayed in the blue banner. Select Controls to view the different display options. Please select Controls to continue. Toggle Fullscreen Toggle Scaling Toggle Fullscreen and Scaling Blank unipoc_remoteaccess_4.mp3 When you are remotely connected to an instrument you can view, monitor, and interact with an instrument to facilitate troubleshooting and data management. Here you have two different display options: Toggle Fullscreen and Toggle Scaling. When both are selected the remote instrument display covers the entire web page. You can also send Escape, Control Alt Delete, and Exit commands to the remote instrument. Note: In UniPOC, you must right click on a device in the Location Tree to send remote commands. Select the RAPIDPoint 500 device 12345. Blank unipoc_remoteaccess_5.mp3 Additionally, from the Location Tree, you can remotely interact with an instrument that supports remote commands and has been configured to do so. Again, select the RAPIDPoint 500, device 12345. Please select the RAPIDPoint 500 device 12345 to continue. Text Entry 1 unipoc_remoteaccess_6.mp3 Here we can send remote commands to instruments that support this functionality, such as the RAPIDPoint 500. Lock, locks the instrument, while unlock, unlocks the instrument. Suppression, lets you select the analytes you do not want to run on the instrument. Calibration, manually runs a 1-Point or 2-Point calibration. And Quality Control, runs an Automatic QC (AQC) measurement for Levels 1, 2, or 3. All commands sent to the instrument are logged and can be viewed in the Instrument Tracking Log or on the Edit Instrument screen. Congratulations! You have successfully connected to a remote instrument and sent remote commands.
