Dr. John Mitsios has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Greece and is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the San Diego-California School of Medicine. His main research interest has been coagulation, with an emphasis on the laboratory diagnosis of coagulation disorders. He was a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, as well as an Assistant Clinical Chemist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Most recently, he was deputy director of the Special Coagulation Laboratory at BioReference Laboratories and co-authored 20 peer-reviewed articles and 3 book chapters. Currently, he is a Senior Clinical Consultant for Hemostasis at Siemens Healthineers.
