The middle left column with body region names and an illustration of the body regions. The middle right column with Available Clinical Protocols. And the right column with the Assigned Clinical Protocols. Let’s say we’d like to perform a Chest standing p.a. exam for our patient. You can either select the body region name Chest on the left or select the chest in the illustration. Select the body region name Chest. Please select Chest to continue. Scroll down the Available Clinical Protocols list to continue. Scroll in Available Protocols List ysio_xpree_va20_step3a_03.wav] The selected body region is highlighted in the illustration. Available Clinical Protocols for this body region are listed. On a touch screen, you can scroll through this list by swiping up and down with your finger. We want to select Chest standing p.a.. Scroll down the Available Clinical Protocols list to see this exam. Please scroll down the Available Clinical Protocols list to continue. Select the + icon of Chest standing p.a. to continue. Select Clinical Protocol ysio_xpree_va20_step3a_04.wav] Select the plus icon next to Chest standing p.a. to assign this clinical protocol to this patient. Please select the + icon of Chest standing p.a. to continue. Select the tab Exam Information to continue. Select Exam Information Tab ysio_xpree_va20_step3a_05.wav] The chosen clinical protocol appears in the list of assigned Clinical Protocols. You can delete an assigned clinical protocol, by selecting the cross to the right of its entry. If you would like to perform a second exam, for example a sitting chest exam, you can add it to the list of assigned Clinical Protocols by selecting the plus icon next to it. You are now ready to continue with the next tab Exam Information. Please select the tab Exam Information to continue. Select the field Accession Number to continue. To delete an entry, select the corresponding field. Please select the field Accession Number to continue. Select the tab Institution to continue. Available fields are admitting diagnosis, current patient location, name and address of your institution, and performing or referring physician. If you scroll down, you can enter the Requesting Physician and Operator. By selecting the single fields, you can enter, modify, or delete required data about your institution. In our example, we keep these fields as they are. You are now all set to adjust acquisition parameters for your patient in the Examination mode. Select Exam to continue. Retry Continue Exit Imaging Software Set for Parameter Adjustement ysio_xpree_va20_step3a_18.wav] You have registered a patient, put in all relevant data, chosen a Clinical Protocol, and selected Exam. The Examination mode has opened and you are ready to adjust the acquisition parameters. You have successfully completed the simulation. Click Retry to try the simulation again. Examination mode Adjust Acquisition Parameters in the Examination Mode ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_1.wav] You have selected Exam, and the Examination mode has opened. From this point on, it does not matter if you are working with an emergency patient or a registered patient. The workflow for both kinds of registration is exactly the same. In our case, we want to set the acquisition parameters for our registered patient Jane Doe. In this mode, your clinical workflow is displayed in the workflow area in the top left corner. The selected Clinical Protocol is displayed on top of the workflow area on the left. On top of the parameters and tools area on the right, you can see the selected Clinical Protocol Step. You can still change your selected Clinical Protocol Steps, or add further Clinical Protocols, by selecting the + icon next to Edit Clinical Protocol Steps. On the bottom left, the green checkmark indicates that the system is ready for exposure. The pre-set parameters are shown in the status bar below the Clinical Protocol on the right. You can change the parameters in the workflow area on the right. Select Patient Size to continue. Check or Correct Patient Size ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_2.wav] For an examination, you mainly check or correct the Patient Size and the Acquisition Type. You can also adjust the exposure parameters, such as kV, mAs, and others. We start by opening the Patient Size drop-down list. Please select Patient Size to continue. Select the Acquisition Type field to continue. Check or Correct Acquisition Type ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_4.wav] You may have to change the Acquisition Type, which indicates the detector or workstation used for the acquisition. Select the Acquisition Type field to unfold its drop-down list. Please select the Acquisition Type field to continue. Select Wall Stand to continue. Select Acquisition Type ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_5.wav] The drop-down list appears. The available detectors depend on the detectors assigned to the system. In our example, the Table and Wall Stand mode are selectable. Two free exposure modes for acquisitions with two different mobile detectors can also be chosen. The icons symbolize the mode and the selected mobile detector, here the Max Wi-D and the Max mini detector. Please note: Depending on the Acquisition Type, the selectable exposure parameters vary. Select Wall Stand for our Chest standing p.a. workflow. Please select Wall Stand to continue. Select the – icon to continue. Increase Tube Voltage Value ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_6.wav] Using the plus or minus icon, you can increase or decrease the tube voltage value to your needs. If you select the value directly, you can also select the desired value from a scrollable list. For training purposes, let’s decrease this value using the minus icon. Please select the – icon to continue. Select Show More to continue. Select Show More ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_7.wav] You have decreased the tube voltage value to 121 kV. The Dose and Measuring Field values are also adjustable. Adjusting the measuring field to the region of interest improves the image quality. Depending on the selected clinical protocol step, you must select one or more suitable measuring fields so that the automatic exposure control can match the dose to the organ of interest. For our examination, we leave the Dose and Measuring fields as they are. We want to change more exposure parameters. Select Show More to see them. Please select Show More to continue. Scroll down the to continue. Change Exposure Mode ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_8.wav] You now have the option to select a different Exposure Mode for the acquisition. The available exposure modes depend on the system and the selected workplace. We will leave the Exposure Mode as it is. Scroll down to see more of the exposure parameters. Please scroll down to continue. Select the EC value to continue. Set Exposure Control Value ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_9.wav] The additional functions Exposure Correction (EC), mmCU, and Focus become visible. mmCu lets you add an additional copper filter into the beam to harden the radiation, for example, for pediatric examinations. For the focus, you have the option to select the small or the large focus. We want to change only the Exposure correction. If you want to adjust this value, the Dose Exposure Mode must be selected. The Exposure correction can be used to compensate the influence of metal implants. 1 exposure point changes the exposure about 25%. In general, 1 exposure point compensates an object thickness of approximately 1 cm. The Exposure Correction can be set between -2 and +2 and modified in increments of 0.5 exposure points (EP). We want to increase the dose by one exposure point. You can use the plus and minus icons, or select the desired value from a scrollable list. To open this list, select the value directly. Please select the EC value to continue. Select the value 1 to continue. Adjust values from value list ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_10.wav] A scrollable list of available values appears. On the real system, you can scroll through this list by swiping your finger up or down. To scroll through the list value by value, select the up and down arrows. Select the value 1 to confirm and close the list. Please select the value 1 to continue. Congratulations! You have successfully completed the simulation. Click Retry to try the simulation again. Retry Continue Exit Imaging Software Set for Examination ysio_xpree_va20_step3b_11.wav] If you have changed exposure parameters, you can reset them to the settings of the clinical protocol step. To do that, tap the Reset Parameters button. From an imaging software perspective, you are now all set to perform the examination of your patient. Congratulations!
