Symbia Pro.specta™ Broad Quantification Calibration: Volume Sensitivity Calibration Job Aid

This job aid will guide the user in performing the Volume Sensitivity Calibration for the accurate quantification of Broad Quantification studies.

Broad Quantification Calibration: Volume Sensitivity Calibration Job Aid Symbia Pro.specta™ This job aid will guide the user in performing the Volume Sensitivity Calibration for the accurate quantification of Broad Quantification studies. Volume Sensitivity Calibration generates a volume sensitivity factor (VSF) using a phantom with isotope and collimator. Sensitivity Calibration is also needed for broad quantification. Details can be found in the Instructions for Use Manual or the Broad Quantification Calibration: Sensitivity Calibration job aid. Please Note: Volume Sensitivity Calibration for broad quantification only needs to be performed once at system installation. The system will only prompt for it dur- ing the initial system installation. What you’ll need: 1. Peaking and calibration sources for the respective clinical iso- tope to be calibrated 2. Filled Uniform Cylinder Phantom prepared with a known con- centration of activity reported from the dose calibrator a. Recommended volume of 6000-7000 mL with an ap- proximate diameter of 20 cm yielding a count rate of 5- 30 kcts/sec per detector Unrestricted | Published by Siemens Healthineers AG | © Siemens Healthineers AG, 2024 SIEMENS Master Template Effective Date: 21 Apr 2023 | HILS 2224 Job Aid Effective Date: 05 Sep 2024 | QR700012567 Healthineers Job Aid | Broad Quantification Calibration: Volume Sensitivity Calibration Effective Date: 05 Sep 2024 | QR700012567 Before starting the procedure, complete the following pre-requisites: ✓ Prepare the phantom ✓ Install applicable collimators ✓ Position the phantom on the patient table in the same area for Head Alignment Source Holder ✓ The long axis of the phantom should be parallel with the gantry’s axis of rotation o Set the patient table height so that the phantom is centered transaxially within the gantry’s opening ✓ Other preconditions including having NMCTFOV (Nuclear Medicine Computed Tomogra- phy Field of View) calibration for the selected collimator o Head Alignment calibration for the selected collimator, and Broad Quant Sensitivity for the selected collimator and isotope configuration (for information on how to perform these calibrations, please see the Instructions for Use Manual) Performing the Broad Quantification Volume Sensitivity Calibration: 1. Please Note: If the time limit for a calibration has been exceeded, the following message will be displayed: “Last Broad Quant Sensitivity calibration has been per- formed more than 10 days ago.” 7. Place the phantom on the patient table and position between the detectors, as shown. 1. Place the phantom on the patient table and position between the detectors 2. Adjust the bed height to center the phantom vertically 3. Click Continue (system motion will occur) 8. Click Go. System motion will occur, retracting both detectors and moving the patient pallet to the start position. 9. Verify the phantom’s position, and then click Continue. The SPECT calibration will start, followed by a CT calibration. Instructions for performing the calibration will be displayed.
