Styletting HM Wash Probes on the Dimension® Family of Integrated Chemistry Systems Video

This video demonstrates how to stylette the HM Wash Probes on the Dimension® Family of Integrated Chemistry Systems.

This video applies to the dimension EXL with LM integrated chemistry system, dimension Excel 200 integrated chemistry system, dimension RXL Max integrated chemistry system, and dimension expand and expand plus integrated chemistry systems. With the system in standby, display the HM Pump Prime screen from the operating menu by selecting F4 system RE. Select F7 pump prime. Select F6 HM. Raise the imp lid. Then insert a strong slender tool into the reagent lid latch, press firmly and raise the reagent lid. Locate the wash pro. Disconnect the green aspirate tubing from the wash probe. Using a screwdriver, remove the plastic guard from the wash station by loosening the two screws on the facing side until the guard can slide out from under the screws. Next, dislodge any obstructions or accumulations by passing an IMT stylet completely through the aspirate probe from top to bottom. Be sure to style it the aspirate side of the probe located toward the back of the HM Wash probe. The dispensed probes should not be styled as there is a contamination risk. Dispose of the used iimt stylet into a biohazard waste container. Reconnect the tubing to the probe. Ensure the blue and green labeled tubing is attached to the correct aspirate probes. To reconnect the tubing to the correct aspirate probes, refer to the HM Wash Station illustration located on the back panel of the analyzer adjacent to the Wash station. The HMM wash diagram is also available in the dimension system operators guide. Reinstall the bottom plastic guard onto the wash station. On the HM Pump Prime screen, enter the number 3 in the cycle count field. Then select F1 HMM wash pump to prime the HM Wash pump. Finally, close the instrument lids and perform a system check. Refer to the dimension systems operators guide for this procedure. If documenting using the paper logs from the dimension system operators guide, document the maintenance in the weekly, monthly maintenance log sheet or instrument log sheet. Or, if documenting using the electronic logs in the dimension system software, document the maintenance in the instrument log screen.
