The Physiological Signal display showing the ECG signals or respiratory signals, if physiological data is available. The area to practice the breathing instructions with the patient called CARE Breathe. The Patient Characteristics display showing age, heart rate and heart rate variabilities of the patient. And when you scroll down, an Information display showing messages relevant to the current attribute in the decision tree. We will introduce CARE Breathe to you in the next step. CARE Breathe and its visual patient instructions are displayed in the gantry funnel to the patient before, during, and after a scan. There are 3 buttons on the popover representing the 3 visual patient instructions. The first button is Breathe. It displays the instruction: Continue to breathe normally. Check your patient’s position here and adjust the following values, if necessary: Patient Orientation When you select Patient Orientation, you can select a value in the list to change the patient position. Table Movement You can set the direction of the table movement by selecting from the Table Movement list. Topogram Length Topogram Length displays a list of available topogram length values, from which you can select a different value to change the length of the topogram. Perform the Topogram Scan [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_18.mp3] The screen appears that indicates the remaining Delay Time until you start the topogram scan. On the control box, select the Start scanning button to start the topogram scan. Please select the Start scanning button to continue. Perform the Topogram Scan 2 [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_20.mp3] [Breathing instructions audio text in the background as available on the system: Please breathe in. Breathe all the way out. Breathe in. And hold your breath. Start breathing again.] A countdown starts indicating the remaining Delay Time until the system starts the topogram scan. As soon as the scan starts, the Exam Time is displayed in seconds. Once the system has acquired the topogram, the topogram image is displayed. It also contains the adjustable scan range for the tomogram image you acquire later. Mirrored Situation at the Console [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_21.mp3] Just like before, the system mirrors your tablet activity at the console resulting in the acquired topogram image and the adjustable scan range. Select the myExam Compass icon to continue. Open myExam Compass [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_22.mp3] As the next step on the tablet, select myExam Compass to open it. Please select the myExam Compass icon to continue. Select Start Test Run to continue. Before starting the Calcium Scoring scan, you can run a table movement test here. The table movement test checks the horizontal travel distance of the patient table before scanning to avoid clamping or collision of the patient or certain material. Select Start Test Run to continue. Please select Start Test Run to continue. Select the Move key to continue. Start Table Movement Test 2 [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_24.mp3] The system displays the table movement test at the console, not on the tablet. On the bottom left corner of the monitor screen, a “Press Move” message will prompt you twice to press the Move key on the control box to complete the test: The first time to move the table to the starting position of the next scan range, the second time to move it to the end position of the scan range. We will show you what this looks like in the topogram segment. Select the Move key on the control box to start the table movement test. Please select the Move key to continue. In the bottom left corner, it tells you what to do next: Press the Move key on the control box. Select the Move key to continue. Move Table for the Calcium Scoring Scan 2 [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_30.mp3] Select the Move key on the control box to move the table to the starting position for the calcium scoring scan. As soon as the scan starts, the Exam Time is displayed in seconds. Once the system has performed the scan, the calcium scoring image is displayed. In addition, it automatically goes over to the next workflow task, the premonitoring scan. You perform the premonitoring scan to define the position of the monitoring range and the region of interest (ROI) before the diagnostic range is executed. This scan helps in determining the optimal contrast enhancement of the organ or vessel of interest before you initiate the diagnostic scan. Select GO to continue. Select GO [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_34.mp3] Select GO on the tablet to go over to the premonitoring workflow task. Please select GO to continue. Adjust the Scan Range for the Premonitoring Scan [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_35.mp3] The premonitoring screen appears. Your first step in preparing the premonitoring scan is to adjust the scan range. Simply drag and drop it to the desired level of the heart. Perform the Premonitoring Scan [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_40.mp3] Again, a countdown starts showing the Delay Time and the remaining Exam Time as soon as the scan starts. Once the system has performed the scan, the premonitoring image is displayed. Please note: If you have enabled the FAST ROI option, your system automatically defines the region of interest (ROI) on the acquired Premonitoring image for contrast enhancement evaluation, in our example in the aorta. Mirrored Situation at the Console [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_41.mp3] At the console, the system performs and displays the premonitoring scan and the acquired image synchronously again. Just like on the tablet, it defines and displays the ROI in the aorta. In addition, it automatically goes over to the next workflow task, the monitoring scan. The monitoring scan is also known as the bolus tracking scan. You perform it to monitor the flow of the contrast medium in a vessel. It helps determine the optimal timing for starting the diagnostic scan. Please note: Usually, you perform the pre-monitoring scan without contrast medium, so not as shown on the image in this simulator environment. Select the CTA Coronary scan range to continue. Check the Scan Range [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_42.mp3] Before starting the scan, check the scan range of the CTA Coronary scan. In the Scan Browser area, select the CTA Coronary scan range. Please select the CTA Coronary scan range to continue. Select the Monitoring scan range to continue. Check the Scan Range 2 [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_43.mp3] The screen for the CTA Coronary scan appears. Check and adjust the scan range, if necessary. In our example, it can stay as it is. Then select the Monitoring scan range to return to the Monitoring screen. Please select the Monitoring scan range to continue. Select GO to continue. Check the Injector Parameters [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_44.mp3] The Monitoring screen and the parameters for the injection of contrast medium appear. Then select GO to start performing the cardiac scan. Please select GO to continue. Check the Injector [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_45.mp3] Follow the instruction at the bottom of the screen: Check and arm the injector. Mirrored Situation at the Console [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_46.mp3] The system mirrors this instruction at the console again. Select the Start scanning key to continue. Start the Monitoring Scan [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_47.mp3] After you have armed the injector, the next message on the tablet tells you to start the monitoring scan. Select the Start scanning key on the control box to start it. Please select the Start scanning key to continue. Perform the Monitoring and the Cardiac Scan [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_48.mp3] A countdown starts showing the Delay Time for the monitoring scan. Then the injector injects the contrast medium during the monitoring scan. The scan automatically goes over to the cardiac scan and indicates the Delay Time for it as well. The system performs the cardiac scan. Once the system has performed the cardiac scan, the real-time display coronal image of the CTA is displayed. Mirrored Situation at the Console [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_49.mp3] Synchronously, the Monitoring and the cardiac scan have taken place on the monitor of the console. The same real-time display images are displayed in the image segment. Select the Show QC Image icon to continue. Check Image Quality [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_50.mp3] Back on the tablet, next you would like to check the quality of the acquired images. By selecting the Show QC Image icon on the Image Interaction toolbar, you can toggle between the real-time image series and the quality check image series. Select the Show QC Image icon to continue. Please select the Show QC Image icon to continue. Select the Recon button to continue. Initiate Reconstruction [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_51.mp3] Check the image quality by dragging the slider up and down on the right of the image segment. If you are satisfied with the overall quality of the acquired images, you can initiate their reconstruction now. Please note: The recon results are not displayed on the tablet, only at the console. Select the Recon button to continue. Please select the Recon button to continue. Hover over the recon icons to see the parameters for Parallel and Radial Ranges. Select a recon icon to view its images in the image segment. Scroll through reconstructed images with the mouse wheel. Select the arrow icon on the right to view further recon images. Select the Close button to continue. Close the Patient [Storyboard_SOM_Pro_Pulse_DS_CT_Cardiac_WF_Sim_01_53.mp3] As your last step on the tablet for this workflow, select Close to close the patient.
