The Gantry has several important elements that we will explore throughout the training. Further optional hardware components are the integrated injector arm: Use it to mount a dedicated injector in the examination room. Then place the injector in a position that is convenient for you. the X-ray foot switch with which you can trigger scanning as an alternative to using the Start key. and several accessories, which assist you during CT guided interventions in the examination room with myNeedle Guide: the i-Joystick, which you can mount on the side rail of the patient table to control the horizontal table movements the tablet dock, which you can use to mount the tablet on the table for in-room control of the intervention workflow and an additional monitor for viewing and verifying the acquired images, including measurements, in the control room. ? Patient Table This chapter gives you an overview of the characteristics and operating elements of the 307 kg / 676 lbs patient table. The patient table top is impervious to water. The table, mattress, and accessories are shaped such that they cause, if at all, only minimal artifacts. The markings on the positioning mat indicate the metal-free area of the patient table. Its maximum load in the center is 307kg (676 lbs). ? Storage Box and Side Rail The storage box and the side rail are optional. The side rail also has two options: A long rail and a short rail. You can choose to attach these optional parts along one side or both sides of the patient table. You can then mount accessories like the tablet dock or the i-Joystick and other material to the side rail. Like this, they are available during the complete examination workflow. Please note: The table foot switch is an optional accessory. ? Manual Table Movement In an emergency, with the STOP key pressed or in a power failure, you can position the table top manually. Pull the handle towards the foot end of the table top and pull the table top out of the gantry. Select the orange markers to learn more. ? STOP Key on the Gantry The STOP key allows you to interrupt all system functions and switch off radiation. It is located on the gantry front. In an emergency, press the STOP key. By pressing it, you interrupt all system movements, such as table movement, and stop radiation. Once you have resolved the emergency situation, click the Resume button in the dialog box at the acquisition workstation. It is located on the gantry front. In an emergency, press the STOP key. By pressing it, you interrupt all system movements, such as table movement, and stop radiation. Select the colored callouts on the left to learn more. Laser Light Marker key Press this key to turn the laser light markers on or off. Feed In key Press this key to move the patient table into the gantry. Suspend key Press this key to suspend the scan procedure. This is the preferred method for interrupting a scan before completion. Do not use the STOP key to suspend the scan procedure. Feed Down key Press this key to move the patient table down. This key is disabled if the table does not support a downward motion. Unload key Use this key to unload a patient. Feed Out key Press this key to move the patient table out of the gantry. Start key Press this key to trigger a scan. The X-ray indicator is illuminated when ready for a scan or during a scan. This key is disabled if there is no in-room monitor or tablet installed. Feed Up key Press this key to move the patient table up. This key is disabled if the table does not support an upward motion. Move key Press this key to move the table to the preselected scanning position. ? Gantry X-ray Indicator The X-ray indicator indicates the radiation status of the system. Its location depends on your configuration. It is located either on the left or the right of the gantry-mounted FAST 3D Camera (optional) or in the center of the Halo Cover Plate on the gantry front. There is an additional X-ray indicator on the gantry back. The X-ray indicators on the gantry front and back light up and a warning signal sounds when radiation is being emitted. The color of the X-ray indicator indicates the radiation status of the system: Illuminated in yellow: Radiation active. Not illuminated: No radiation. Gantry front Gantry back Gantry X-ray Indicator Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_gantry-components_x-ray-indicator.mp3 Audio Script: The X-ray indicator indicates the radiation status of the system. Its location depends on your configuration. It is located either on the left or the right of the gantry-mounted FAST 3D Camera (optional) or in the center of the Halo Cover Plate on the gantry front. There is an additional X-ray indicator on the gantry back. The X-ray indicators on the gantry front and back light up and a warning signal sounds when radiation is being emitted. The color of the X-ray indicator indicates the radiation status of the system: Illuminated in yellow means radiation active. Not illuminated means no radiation. ? Laser Light Markers The laser light markers are laser beams that emanate from three points in the gantry opening. These points indicate the position of the scan center and the slice plane in the middle of the detector rows for the inner scan level and the outer offset level. The laser beams fan out so that you see lines as a mark or a cross at the intersection of the beams. The laser beams visualize the gantry isocenter and the radiation exposure plane. Gantry Control Panel Wireless Remote Scan Control (RSC) Control Box To turn on the laser light markers, press the Light Marker key on the gantry control panel, the wireless Remote Scan Control (RSC), or the control box. After approximately 1 minute or if you start a scan, the laser light markers switch off automatically. If you want to switch off the laser light markers immediately, press the Light Marker key again. Laser Light Markers Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_gantry-components_laser-light-markers.mp3 Audio Script: The laser light markers are laser beams that emanate from three points in the gantry opening. These points indicate the position of the scan center and the slice plane in the middle of the detector rows for the inner scan level and the outer offset level. Caution: Do not look directly into the laser beam or at its reflection on smooth, mirror-like surfaces during adjustment. To turn on the laser light markers, press the Light Marker key on the gantry control panel, the wireless Remote Scan Control, or the control box. After approximately one minute or if you start a scan, the laser light markers switch off automatically. If you want to switch off the laser light markers immediately, press the Light Marker key again. ? Full-Range CARE 2D Camera A full-range CARE 2D video camera is mounted on the gantry front and the gantry back. The CARE 2D Camera provides you with live images that allow a closer look to the patient during the whole examination, even when the patient is inside the gantry. If the patient requests it, you can turn off the camera. Full-Range CARE 2D Camera Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_gantry-components_2d_camera.mp3 Audio Script: A full-range CARE 2D video camera is mounted on the gantry front and the gantry back. The CARE 2D Camera provides you with live images that allow a closer look to the patient during the whole examination, even when the patient is inside the gantry. If the patient requests it, you can turn off the camera. ? Gantry-Mounted FAST 3D Camera The optional FAST 3D Camera is mounted on the gantry front. It provides you with three-dimensional live images that help you with patient positioning and topogram planning. Please note: The infrared sensor may interfere with other infrared devices, including remote controls. Do not use any other infrared devices while using the gantry-mounted FAST 3D Camera system! The infrared laser may affect the operation of other electronic equipment, causing them to malfunction. Do not obstruct the view of the patient! Accurate calculation of the isocenter requires a clear view. Gantry-Mounted FAST 3D Camera Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_gantry-components_gm_fast_3d_camera.mp3 Audio Script: The optional FAST 3D Camera is mounted on the gantry front. Please note: The infrared sensor may interfere with other infrared devices, including remote controls. Do not use any other infrared devices while using the ceiling-mounted FAST 3D Camera system! The infrared laser may affect the operation of other electronic equipment, causing them to malfunction. Do not obstruct the view of the patient! Accurate calculation of the isocenter requires a clear view. That’s why CARE Breathe displays visual patient instructions before, during, and after a scan, if you have added a patient instruction to a scan range. The CARE Breathe display units are situated on the gantry front and back in the gantry funnel. Select More to learn more about the visual patient instructions. More CARE Breathe Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_gantry-components_care_breathe.mp3 Audio Script: Patients might need help to understand the different audio instructions during a scan. That’s why CARE Breathe displays visual patient instructions before, during and after a scan, if you have added a patient instruction to a scan range. The CARE Breathe display units are situated on the gantry front and back in the gantry funnel. Select More to learn more about the visual patient instructions. CARE Breathe Visual Patient Instructions For each audio instruction that has been added to a scan range, the following visual patient instructions are displayed to the patient at the CARE Breathe display units in the gantry funnel: Table with 2 columns and 4 rows Visual Patient Instruction Meaning The green animation signals the patient to breathe normally. It is displayed before text A is played before the scan and as soon as text B is played after the scan. The yellow animation signals the patient to prepare to hold their breath. It is displayed as soon as text A is played before the scan. The ring represents a visual count down of the time until the next instruction. The red animation signals the patient to not breathe or swallow as long as the red animation is displayed. It is displayed until the scan is finished. The ring represents a visual count down of the time until the next instruction. CARE Moodlight The optional CARE Moodlight consists of LED lights on the gantry front cover. CARE Moodlight States Table with 2 columns and 4 rows State Description Scan countdown The LED lights are illuminated in white before the scan is started. The LED lights turn off sequentially, one after another, in a clockwise direction until all the LED lights are off, which indicates that the scan has started. Radiation on The LED lights are illuminated in yellow when the X-ray indicator is illuminated, and the scan is in progess. System startup After you switch on the system, the LED lights turn on sequentially, one section after another, in a counter-clockwise direction. They turn on until all of the LED lights are illuminated in orange, which indicates that the system has started. ? Gantry Connector Box The gantry connector box (storage compart-ment) is a key locked box, located at the right side of the gantry stand. This box houses 2 USB interfaces (USB 3.0 or higher), and the On/Off key. There is also an SD card interface that is for service purposes only. If the air filter is dirty, it might lead to the system overheating, so you should replace the air filter regularly. In five easy steps, you can exchange the filter pads on your own quickly and easily without tools. Select the numbered steps below to learn more. If the air filter is dirty, it might lead to the system overheating, so you should replace the air filter regularly. In 5 easy steps, you can exchange the filter pads on your own quickly and easily without tools. Select the numbered steps below to learn more. 5 Air Filter and Exchange Step 5: Close the vent cover. Please note: It is forbidden to use the gantry without replacing the filter. You will receive a notification when it is time to change the air filter. For information regarding the purchase of the filter pads, please contact your Customer Care Center. If the filter pad is not very dirty, cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner is sufficient. 4 Air Filter and Exchange Step 4: Place a new filter pad on the inside of the vent cover. 3 Air Filter and Exchange Step 3: If needed, clean the grid, for example, with a vacuum cleaner. Step 1: Open the air filter door. 1 Air filter door Air filter door ? Tablet One 10.2” gantry tablet is standard. You can use up to four gantry tablets at the same time. The Scan&GO application on them enables you to perform basic workflows within the examination room. It synchronizes with the syngo Acquisition Workplace. And it communicates data wirelessly to the system. With Scan&GO technology: Easily display patient information. Prepare the scans directly at the gantry. Preview images that are sent wirelessly from the scanner to the tablet. Tablet Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_tablet_introduction.mp3 Audio Script: One 10.2 inches gantry tablet is standard. You can use up to four gantry tablets at the same time. The Scan&GO application on them enables you to perform basic workflows within the examination room. It synchronizes with the syngo Acquisition Workplace. And it communicates data wirelessly to the system. With Scan&GO technology, start checking patient information as soon as you collect the patient from the waiting room. Then prepare the scan directly at the gantry to stay with the patient longer. Since the images are sent wirelessly from the scanner to the tablet, you can return to the patient after the scan and stay there. In parallel, you can then preview the images and communicate with radiologists for instant feedback, if required. ? Tablet Storage and Charging Tablet Storage and Charging Audio Filename: somatom_pro_pulse_hardware-olt_tablet_storage.mp3 Audio Script: Identical pairing labels on the tablet and the gantry enable you to identify if they are paired to function together. You can attach up to two tablets at the gantry front… … and optionally up to two tablets at the gantry back. You charge the tablet when you attach it to the gantry and the system is powered on.
