Before cleaning and disinfecting, switch off your system, or switch to standby mode. 2. If available, use protective covers for sockets and other electrical connectors. 3. Check the components for damage. In case of material damage to any parts of the system, notify Siemens Healthineers Customer Service. 4. Ensure that all surfaces, crevices, and grooves are accessible. 1.2 Preparing the equipment for cleaning and disinfection Cleaning personnel has put on protective equipment, such as chemical resistant gloves, a water-repellent protective apron, a face protection mask or goggles and a mask. 1. General cleaning and disinfection procedures 2.1 Accessing system components for cleaning and disinfection Park the CT scanner in a suitable location that is not blocking hospital personnel or equipment. Ensure that the scanner is away from corridors. Park the ambulance or vehicle containing the CT scanner in a safe location. The front cover is closed and locked to the support column. 1. On the gantry operator panel, press and hold the Cover Close key to move the gantry with the front cover to the scan start position. 2. Clean and disinfect the inside and outside of the front Halo radiation shield. 3. Clean and disinfect the accessible part of the inner tower, the rear base, base covers, and bumper surfaces. The front cover is still closed and locked to the support column. The gantry is at the rightmost position. 1. On the gantry operator panel, press and hold the Gantry Back key until the telescopic gantry is completely extracted while the front cover stays in the scan position. 2. Clean and disinfect the rear bore inner surfaces and the shell of the telescopic gantry. 3. Remove the storage box and set it aside for cleaning and disinfection. 4. Clean and disinfect the tower surfaces, including the gantry operator panel and the drive handle. 5. Pull the power cord out as far as possible. 6. Clean and disinfect the power cord and let it wind up automatically. Scan end position (ICU variant) 7. Remount the cleaned and disinfected storage box. 8. Reinstall the cleaned and disinfected rear radiation shield. 9. Reinstall either the cleaned and disinfected head holder or the cleaned and disinfected pediatric support board, as required. 10. Reinstall the cleaned and disinfected shoulder board. 11. Put the shoulder board in the transport position. Hint: Additional maintenance cleaning is recommended. Maintenance cleaning includes all regularly disinfected surfaces and surfaces that do not require regular disinfection, for example, wheels. Hint: Make sure that no fluid enters any ports, including the USB, ethernet, SD card, or other power ports during cleaning and disinfection. Additional information about cleaning and disinfecting CT system components and accessories 3.1 Cleaning and disinfecting the touch screen display You can clean and disinfect the screen of the touch screen display even if it is switched on. 1. To lock the touch screen display, open the Home screen of the Advanced UI and tap the Lock tile. The touch screen display is locked. 2. Clean and disinfect the touch screen display. Hint: Do not use fibrous materials, such as paper Le towels, that can scratch the touch screen System Check display. Remove the cushion from the head holder. 2. Remove the head holder from the support column. 3. Clean and disinfect the surface of the head holder. Hint: Ensure that you can also access areas that are difficult to reach, for example, the transition between mounting plate and head holder. Hint: Do not wipe affixed Velcro surfaces. 4. Clean and disinfect the interface for the head holder or the pediatric support board in the support column. 5. Clean and disinfect both sides of the cushion. 6. When you are finished, mount the head holder to the support column. 3.3 Cleaning and disinfecting positioning aids A number of positioning aids are made from foam material. 1. Follow the instructions of the disinfectant manufacturer regarding the amount of disinfectant needed for a given amount of laundry. 2. Add the disinfectant cleaner and start the appropriate program of the washing machine with a minimum time of 35 minutes and a minimum temperature of 60 °C. 3. Let the fabric accessories dry completely at room temperature before use. 3.5 Cleaning and disinfecting the removable shoulder board (MSU variant only) 1. Remove the shoulder board from the support column. 2. Clean and disinfect the surface of the shoulder board. 3. Clean and disinfect the interface for the shoulder board at the support column. 4. When you are finished, mount the shoulder board to the support column. 3.6 Cleaning and disinfecting the removable pediatric support board (ICU variant only) 1. Remove the pediatric support board from the support column. 2. Clean and disinfect the surface of the pediatric support board. Hint: For the X-ray curtain, contact with liquids should be limited. In the event of contamination, the radiation shields should be processed immediately and allowed to dry. Prolonged contact to any liquids should be avoided. 1. Remove the rear radiation shield. 2. Clean and disinfect both surfaces of the rear radiation shield and set it aside. 3. Open the front Halo radiation shield. 4. Clean and disinfect the inside and outside of the front Halo radiation shield. TOM O 5. Let the radiation shields dry thoroughly. 6. Mount the rear radiation shield to the CT system. 3.8 Cleaning phantoms 1. To clean the sensitive surface of a phantom, only use a pH-neutral cleaning product. 2. After cleaning, completely drain and dry the phantoms. Hint: Do not disinfect phantoms. Hint: For more information on phantoms for the quality measurement, and additional accessories for the constancy test, refer to the corresponding sections in the Instructions for Use of your CT system.
