It provides the receptacle for the electrocardiogram electrodes and a push button for changing the ECG channel. The PMM evaluates the ECG signal to detect the R-peaks. PMM interface Push button Retracting Lever Handle In an emergency with the STOP key pressed or in power failure, you can position the table top manually. You can use the handle at the end of the table to move the table top out of the gantry. Retracting lever handle Table Components The head end is the end of the patient table closer to the gantry. The foot end is the end of the patient table further away from the gantry. The patient table top is impervious to water. The table, mattress, and accessories are shaped such that they cause, if at all, only minimal artifacts. The markings on the positioning mat indicate the metal-free area of the patient table. These include the tablet, Remote Scan Control, gantry control panel, gantry interface, laser light markers, the connector box, a gantry-mounted FAST 3D Camera, and myExam Care, which consists of a full-range CARE 2D Camera, CARE Breathe, and the CARE Moodlight. X-ray indicator Its location depends on your configuration. It is located either on the left or the right of the gantry-mounted FAST 3D Camera (optional) or in the center of the Halo cover plate on the gantry front. Stop key This should only be used in case of emergencies. FAST 3D Camera Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_07 Audio Script: The gantry-mounted FAST 3D Camera provides you with live images that help you with patient positioning and collision detecting. X-ray indicator lights No illumination: No radiation Illumination in yellow: Radiation Ceiling-mounted camera (optional for SOMATOM go.Up) The ceiling-mounted FAST 3D Camera captures data of the patient structure in three dimensions. It is equipped with an infrared light source and sensor, and an RGB camera. The ceiling-mounted FAST 3D Camera system is positioned above the patient table and in front of the gantry. The camera system allows automated patient positioning in the examination room. It consists of several components: 1. Ceiling flange - covers the fixation to the concrete or suspended ceiling 2. Ceiling extension - the length of the ceiling extension is variable to allow an installation of the ceiling-mounted FAST 3D Camera at different room heights 3. Ceiling-mounted FAST 3D Camera - produces a three dimensional image of the patient structure 2 3 1 ? Laser Light Markers The light markers are laser beams that emanate from three points in the gantry opening. These points indicate the scan center and form a cross when the beams intersect. They help correctly position the patient. Please take caution that you or the patient do not look directly into the laser beam. Select the colored callouts on the right for more information. Laser Light Markers Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_08 Audio Script: The light markers are laser beams that emanate from three points in the gantry opening. These points indicate the scan center and form a cross when the beams intersect. They help correctly position the patient. Please take caution that you or the patient do not look directly into the laser beam. Select the colored callouts on the right for more information. To turn the light marker on, press the Light Marker key on the control box or the Remote Scan Control. After approximately one minute, the laser light marker is switched off automatically. If you want to switch off the light marker immediately, press the Light Marker key again. ? Ring Light Gantry Ring Light It has the color orange and comes as standard ambient light on every scanner except for SOMATOM go.Now. Moodlight (optional) Aims to reduce the patient's anxiety and stress levels during the examination by providing a soothing ambient light with different colors. CARE Moodlight (optional) Consists of LED lights on the gantry front cover and is used to indicate the following states: Scan countdown: LED lights are illuminated in white and turn off sequentially, in a clockwise direction. Radiation on: LED lights are illuminated in yellow when the X-ray indicator is illuminated, and the scan is in progress. System startup: LED lights turn on sequentially, in a counter-clockwise direction until all the LED lights are illuminated in orange. Ring Light Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_09 Audio Script: The gantry ring light has the color orange and comes as standard ambient light on every scanner except for SOMATOM go.Now. The optional gantry ring Moodlight aims to reduce the patient's anxiety and stress levels during the examination by providing a soothing ambient light with different colors. The optional CARE Moodlight consists of LED lights on the gantry front cover and is used to indicate the following states: - Scan countdown - Radiation on - System startup Please read through the different CARE Moodlight states. ? CARE Breathe To help patients understand the different audio instructions during a scan, CARE Breathe displays visual patient instructions (VPI) before, during, and after a scan if the scan range has a patient instruction. You can find the CARE Breathe display units on the gantry front and back in the gantry funnel. The green animation signals the patient to breathe normally. The yellow animation signals the patient to prepare to hold their breath. The ring represents a visual count down. The red animation signals the patient to not breathe or swallow as long as the red animation is displayed. The ring represents a visual count down. CARE Breathe Visual patient instruction: CARE Breathe Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_10 Audio Script: To help patients understand the different audio instructions during a scan, CARE Breathe displays visual patient instructions (VPI) before, during and after a scan if the scan range has a patient instruction. You can find the CARE Breathe display units on the gantry front and back in the gantry funnel. Please read through the different Visual patient instructions. ? Gantry Interface The gantry provides several interfaces. You can find the connectors at the bottom right side of the gantry for various connections depending on the scanner's system configuration. ? Connector Box The connector box on the right side of the gantry is a key locked box that houses service options. Table Foot Switch You can move the patient table by using the optional table foot switch. This is an alternative to using the keys on the Remote Scan Control or the control box. The table foot switch between the gantry and the patient table connects to the table through a cable. The table foot switch has two Load pedals and two Unload pedals. The pedals are on both sides of the switch. Table Foot Switch Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_13 Audio Script: You can move the patient table by using the optional table foot switch. This is an alternative to using the keys on the Remote Scan Control or the control box. The table foot switch between the gantry and the patient table connects to the table through a cable. Tablet You can find one tablet or multiple tablets (optional) in the examination room. The CT Scan&GO application on these tablets allows you to perform workflows within the examination room. Tablet Storage Specifications Application Tablet Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_15 Audio Script: You can find one tablet or multiple tablets (optional) in the examination room. The CT Scan&GO application on these tablets allows you to perform workflows within the examination room. It synchronizes with the syngo Acquisition Workplace and wirelessly communicates data to the system. Select the tab arrows to learn more about the tablet. Application With the tablet, you can control the exam and scan workflow from the inside and outside of the scan room. With the Scan&GO technology, you just need a few steps for the entire scan. Start checking the patient information as soon as you collect the patient from the waiting room. Then prepare the scan directly at the gantry to stay with the patient longer. Since the images are sent wirelessly from the scanner to the tablet, you can return to the patient after the scan. You can stay there while previewing the images and communicating with radiologists for instant feedback, if required. Tablet Storage You can attach the tablet to the gantry and charge it in the cradle when you power on the scanner. You can also charge the gantry tablet by attaching it to the contacted charging docking station or the mechanic docking station. One gantry tablet is standard in the examination room. You can use up to four gantry tablets at the same time. If a facility has multiple systems and tablets, it should label the Remote Scan Control and tablet of each respective system with matching identifiers. ? Gantry Control Panel The gantry control panel is a standard configuration and part of your system. You can charge the wireless RSC on the cradle of the gantry or at any USB port, for example, a monitor USB port. Please note: The wireless RSC will not react to any operation while it is charging. A battery indicator on the wireless Remote Scan Control shows you the current status of the battery as follows. ? Operating in Range The wireless RSC has a certain operating range limitation. Out of Range indicator Off when you are within the operating range. Turns red when you are out of the operating range. Please note: Once the RSC is out of operation range, the connection turns off. As soon as the RSC is back in the operating range, it will establish the connection to the scanner automatically. This might take a few seconds. Operating in Range Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_19 Audio Script: The wireless RSC has a certain operating range limitation. This is shown by the Out of Range indicator located on the bottom left of the RSC. The Out of Range indicator is off when you are within the operating range. It turns to red when you are out of the operating range, and the connection turns off. As soon as the RSC is back in the operating range, it will establish the connection to the scanner automatically. This might take a few seconds. ? Dead Man's Switch To avoid unintended activation of keys, the wireless RSC includes a dead man's switch. User needs to activate it to enable any of the other keys on the device. Active when the user holds the wireless RSC. Activation of dead man's switch Grasp the lower half of the wireless RSC with your palm. Place your thumb on one side of the wireless RSC. Place your remaining fingers on the other side. Ensure your hands are in contact with both sides of the back of the wireless RSC. Dead Man's Switch Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_20 Audio Script: To avoid unintended activation of keys, the wireless Remote Scan Control includes a dead man's switch. The user needs to activate it to enable any of the other keys on the device. The dead man's switch is active when the user holds the wireless Remote Scan Control. In other situations, the switch is not active. To activate the dead man's switch, grasp the lower half of the RSC with your palm. Place your thumb on one side of the wireless Remote Scan Control and your remaining fingers on the other side. Ensure your hands are in contact with both sides of the back of the RSC. ? Control Box The control box enables you to start and stop a measurement and move the gantry and the table while you are outside of the examination room. You can find the operating elements for the intercom system also on the control box. Control Box Audio Filename: SOMATOM_go.Now&go.Up_HW_Overview_21 Audio Script: The control box enables you to start and stop a measurement and move the gantry and the table while you are outside of the examination room. STOP key Press this key to stop radiation and movements altogether in an emergency. Call patient key Press and hold this key while speaking into the microphone. You can adjust the volume by pressing the + and - keys. The respective volume is indicated by light band. Listen to patient key Press this key if you want to hear what the patient is saying. You can adjust the volume by pressing the + and - keys. The respective volume is indicated by light band. Move key Press this key to move the table to the preselected scanning position or tilt the gantry to the next measuring position. Feed In key Press this key to move the table into the gantry. Feed Out key Press this key to move the table out of the gantry. Feed Up key Press this key to move the patient table up. Feed Down key Press this key to move the patient table down. Suspend key Press this key to hold the scan procedure. This is the preferred method for interrupting a scan before completion. You should not use the STOP key for this purpose. Unload key Use this key to unload a patient. Laser Light Marker key Press this key to turn the laser light marker on or off. Start key Press this key to trigger a scan. The Start key on the control box is equipped with an X-ray indicator. A warning signal sounds when radiation is being generated. The color of the indicator shows the operating state of the system: When illuminated in green, the scanner is ready for scanning. When illuminated in yellow, radiation is being generated.
