Patient data can be provided by a RIS worklist or a manual registration. Creating an emergency patient is also possible. To register a new patient, you can enter patient data manually if the data is not supplied by the HIS or RIS. Exercise: Manual patient registration 1. In this scenario, after the registration, you have already moved the system to the ICU room. You have centered the X-ray tube to the wireless detector under the patient’s chest in a supine position. Proper collimation to the chest has been applied, and lead protection has been provided to the patient as well. Exercise: Chest AP John Doe is a larger patient, which means you might have to adjust the exposure parameters to acquire a good clinical image. In addition, follow the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable), and seek to reduce the radiation dose to only the amount necessary. In the Examination tab card, check that the OGP X Chest a.p.,lying position is selected. On the actual Mobilett Elara Max system, the first assigned OGP is automatically selected and the exposure parameters are loaded. In the SmartSimulator however, you must first select the organ program after opening the examination. 2. Select the OGP Chest a.p., lying position in the top-right corner of the Examination tab card. Since this is only a simulated image, the image impression itself will not change when different exposure parameters are used. You are now finished with the exam workflow of the Chest 1 View. You can rotate the image, change the contrast and brightness windowing, flip the image horizontally or vertically, and crop the image. In this scenario, the exercise will be based on the images as follows: • Chest image: Windowing, set label, and crop • Ankle image: Windowing, flip, set label, add text Exercise: Chest image postprocessing 1. Click on the Postprocessing tab card on the far right side. 2. Use the icons Show Previous/Next image to view the images. 3. You can click on study overview to view all images. Open the Rad tab card and select on the crop icon. A message appears which tells you that the crop operation will remove the label. Click OK. Click the Annotations icon in the Graphics tab card, and type a.p. in the text field. Then move the mouse to the middle-right side of the image just under the marker. Click once to place the text. Below you can see how the Documentation tab card looks on the MOBILETT Elara Max SmartSimulator: Select Exercise: Documentation 1. To mark or unmark the images, right- click on the image using your mouse. 2. Try to de-select all images by clicking on the icon Unmark all icon. To select all images, click on the Mark all icon again. Press the Delete icon, and then choose the first acquired chest image, by left clicking on the first image. Now, the image is crossed out. Click OK to confirm the deletion. Select 2 3 Note: You cannot delete all the images from the study. However, you can delete the entire case from the examined patient list in the Patient tab card. 4. At the end, press on the Patient tab card to exit from the current case. You have completed all exercises.
