This job aid will assist with scanning a density phantom.
Scan Physics Density Phantom & Placing ROIs on a go. System SOMATOM go.Sim & SOMATOM go.Open Pro (VA40) Radiation Oncology sites scan a density phantom and perform HU (Hounsfield Unit) readings for dose curves. Density Phantom scans can be performed with or without a topogram. As with all Siemens Healthineers workflows, several methods exist for performing this function. Using a Topogram Zeroing the table at the internal bore lasers is not required, but it does make it easier to find the middle of the phantom. H3 1. Select the desired scan protocol. The default RTP (Radiation Therapy Protocol) scan mode is spiral but can be changed to sequential in the Exam Designer. Collimation can be set by selecting the RTP Head (16 cm) or the RTP Abdomen protocol (32 cm). This example uses the spiral pelvis protocol.
