
SC2000 Stress Echo
This web-based training is designed to provide the US technologist and physician with relevant information to enhance and improve their clinical knowledge of the ACUSON SC2000 ultrasound system. This module will focus on the features and functions of the system required to configure a Stress Protocol, demonstrate how to perform a Stress Echo, and explain how the Stress Echo technology works.

Welcome to the Stress Echo course for the ACUSON SC2000™ volume imaging system. The following are trademarks of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. (syngo® is a trademark of Siemens AG): ACUSON SC2000™ volume imaging ultrasound system ACUSON Sequoia™ echocardiography system Select wrench icon (user configuration) in right hand corner of screen (1) Select eSieScan Protocols blind (2) Choose factory default of 2D Exercise Stress 2D stage (3) Copy to rename protocol as needed (no changes can be made to factory defaults) (4) On new protocol, select Resting Stage (5) Rearrange any views as needed (ex: move A4C to last view) (6) Remove unwanted views, such as undefined (7) Repeat steps 5,6,7 for Post Stage and views (8) Check both stages for desired Timer controls and post playback time. (SS) ex: ¼, ¾ of time (9) Select Apply at bottom of page to save changes (SS) (10) When using View Control, your post exercise images are labeled with the appropriate view name as they are captured Imaging parameters are saved during the resting acquisition and then automatically applied to each view uniquely: ROI position, Depth, Gain, Dynamic Range, Frequency, Space Time The 2D Exercise Stress Echo application is very easy to use **FLEXIBLE AND FORGIVING** You don’t have to use View Control when capturing Post exercise images: Post exercise images can be relabeled appropriately during image selection (similar to ACUSON Sequoia system capture) Saved resting parameters will not be automatically be applied to each view To capture resting views: A green arrow will appear next to the active view name Select Clip Store to begin acquisition of the configured number of clips Start a new patient use the Patient Registration page: Under the Workflow drop-down menu, select 2D Exercise Stress or your Customized Stress Echo Click OK to access image screen or clip capture key When in Acquisition mode, select Resume Protocol to begin a Stress Echo protocol. A fixed Region of Interest (ROI) will appear. Images automatically appear for selection Point and click to select image(s): A blue box will appear around the selected image(s). Multiple images can be chosen for each view Select last desired image to return to live imaging (or press 2D knob) The system automatically cycles to the next view Repeat capture and selection of all resting view To reject and reacquire: Press Rejecton the Soft Key menu New images will replace previously acquired images Select the View name and the green arrow will appear Press Clip Store to capture images Click Stress review in left column to view selected resting images. Press Accept Stage to return to live imaging for acquisition of the post exercise stage and to start the stage timer. The green arrow will appear next to Post and the view name: Press Clip Store to begin continuous acquisition of images. A progress bar is present to show available capture space Press Clip Store or Pause Capture to stop/pause acquisition Use the View Control feature to capture Post Exercise images to allow labeling for each view during capture. Just use the Wheel: It will also apply a number of resting stage parameters to each view uniquely Some of these parameters include: ROI position and size, Depth, Gain, Dynamic Range, Frequency, Space Time Capture (1) A green arrow will appear next to the active view. Use the Scroll wheel (above the Trackball) to move from one view to the next during continuous capture A checkmark appears next to the view name after the user moves on to the next view Once all views have been captured, click End capture to enter Selection mode *Note: No more Post images can be captured after End Capture has been clicked. Selection (2) On the left task panel, click each View name to automatically move to the first post images captured of each view Use the Page control to move through the remaining images of each view. Using the Select key, choose the images to be saved A checkmark will appear beside the view name once the image(s) have been selected View names can be changed by pressing the Next key (right click) for a menu of view names You can capture all Post images without using the View Control feature: All images will be labeled the same (i.e. view name that the green arrow is pointing~ all A4C) until relabeled during the selection process Resting stage parameters (listed in previous step) will not be automatically applied using this method of Post stage acquisition Capture (1) A green arrow will appear next to the active view Press Clip Captureand acquire all views without using the scroll wheel to move form one view name to another All post images will be labeled with the same view name and changed during the selection process View labels will be corrected in the Selection mode Once all views have been captured, click End Capture to enter Selection mode **Note: No more Post images can be captured after End Capture has been clicked. Selection (2) On the left task pane, use the Page control to move through the pages of Post stage images Using the Select key, choose the images to be saved All images are labeled with the first view name Reassign the appropriate view name by pressing the Next key to highlight the box and then right click for access to the view name menu A checkmark will appear beside the view name once the image(s) have been selected and relabeled. Select Stress Review: Viewing options include: Hide/show overlays (1) Viewing layouts -1only,1X1, 2X2, 4X2, 4X3 (2) Sort: Sort by stage Sort by view (3) Playback Mode: Full R-R Systole only Diastole only (4) Brightness and contrast (5) To end exam, select End Exam checkmark: Any unselected Stress Echo clips will be deleted on exam end Clips captured outside of the Stress Echo protocol will be saved on exam end When using View Control, your post exercise images are labeled with the appropriate view name as they are captured: Imaging parameters are saved during the resting acquisition and then automatically applied to each view uniquely: ROI position and size, Depth, Gain, Dynamic Range, Frequency, Space Time The 2D Exercise Stress Echo application is very easy to use. **FLEXIBLE AND FORGIVING** You don’t have to use View Control when capturing post exercise images Post exercise images can be relabeled appropriately during image selection Saved resting parameters will not be automatically be applied to each view Start a new patient using the Patient Registration page Under the Workflow pull-down menu, select 2D Pharm Stress 4-stage or your customized 2D Pharm stress echo Click OK to access image screen When in Acquisition mode, select Resume Protocol to begin Pharm Stress Echo protocol. A fixed Region of Interest (ROI) will appear A green arrow will appear next to the stage and active view name Press Clip Store to begin acquisition of configured number of clips: Usually 4 per stage With each captured Baseline view, certain parameters are saved to be recalled in subsequent stages and applied to each view uniquely Some of these parameters include: ROI position and size, Depth, Gain, Dynamic Range, Frequency, Space Time Images automatically appear for selection: Point and click to select image(s). A blue box will appear around the selected image(s). Multiple images can be chosen for each view Double click on the last desired image to return to live imaging (or press 2D knob) The system automatically cycles to the next view Repeat capture and selection of all baseline view To reject and reacquire images, press Reject on the Soft Key menu: New images will replace previously acquired images Select the view name and the green arrow will appear. Press Clip Store to capture images From Stress Review, press Clip Store.This returns the system to live imaging and advances you to the next stage: You may also use the 2D knob and click on the next stage Once images have been acquired for that next stage, you can no longer go back and reacquire for the previous stage Repeat capture/review/selection for all views. Baseline imaging parameters will be applied to each view uniquely Selection (2) To select images; choose selection blind, number (1) On the left task panel, click each View name (2) to automatically move to the first Peak images captured of each view Use the Page control to move through the remaining images of each view Using the Select key, choose the images to be saved A check mark will appear beside the view name once the images have been selected View names can be changed by pressing the Next key (right click) for a menu of the view name The user can capture all Peak images (continuous capture) without using the View Control feature: All images will be labeled the same (i.e., the view name that the green arrow is pointing to) until relabeled during the selection process Baseline stage parameters (listed in previous step) will not be automatically applied using this method during peak stage acquisition Continuous Capture and Selection When NOT Using View Control:Capture (1) A green arrow will appear next to the first active view. Press Clip Store and acquire all Peak views without using the scroll wheel to move from one view name to another All images will be labeled with the same view name and changed during the Selection process Press Pause Capture if necessary Once all views have been captured, click End Capture to enter Selection Selection (2) On the left task panel, use the Page control to move through the pages of Peak stage images Using the Select key, choose the images to be saved. All images are labeled with the first view name Reassign the appropriate view name by pressing the Next key (right click) for access to the view name menu A checkmark will appear beside the view name once the image(s) have been selected and relabel Stress Review and Review are separate review states: Stress Review offers viewing options specific for Stress Echo Images not captured within the Stress Echo protocol can only be reviewed through Image Review Select Stress Review from the Stress Echo tab on the left task pane Did you know...? To reacquire: Select View Post continuous captured labeled images: Select left button to highlight, then click Right button to identify Using the View capture wheel: Double click Post images to move to the next view Choose Stress Echo then Review to view all images (2D and Stress Echo): Unable to label Stress Echo Images Include: Hide/show overlays Viewing layout: 1only, 1X1, 2X2, 4X2, 4X3 Sort: Sort by stage Sort by view Compare to baseline Compare by stage Playback Mode: Full R-R, Systole only, Diastole only Brightness and contrast Additionally, you can: End capture with post images only: Unable to acquire additional images after end capture Reject to reacquire: Defer Select to select later Can change any view after accepting stage of all views: Deselect image that will be deleted Check right corner to make sure you don’t have multiple images Once you highlight to reacquire you are locked in to reacquire To ensure post images are capturing: Listen for the begin capture chime Ensure the percentage begins to change immediately Capturing Peak stage images using the View Control feature not only labels your views as you capture but also applies a number of Baseline stage parameters to each view uniquely: Some of these parameters include: ROI position Depth, Gain Dynamic Range Frequency Space Time Continuous Capture and Selection: Capture (1) A green arrow will appear next to the active view. Use the scroll wheel (above the Trackball) to move from one view to the next during continuous capture A checkmark appears next to the view name after the user moves to the next view Once all views have been captured, click End Capture to enter Selection mode **Note: No more Peak stage images can be captured after End Capture has been clicked.
