Replacing the HM Pump Heads on the Wash Station for the Dimension® Family of Integrated Chemistry Systems Video

To prevent any automatic priming of the HM Wash probes, navigate to the pump prime screen. With the system in standby, access the HM Pump prime screen from the operating menu by selecting F4 system RE. Select F7 pump prime. Select F6 HM. Raise the IMT and reagent lids to access the pump head. The aspirate and dispense pump heads are located on the wash station frame. Disconnect the tubing from the pump head at its connectors. Using your fingers, squeeze the two tabs on the top and bottom of the pump head and pull it off the pump base, then discard it into a biohazard waste container. To install the new pump head on the motor, insert the shipping plug or T plug that came with the pump head completely into the front of the cassette. Slide the pump head on to the shaft of the motor, allowing the shipping plug to fall as the new pump head is installed. Snap the pump head into place. Reattach the tubing to the pump head. Repeat these steps to replace pump head wash pump #1. To prime the HMM wash pump, set the cycles field to three and press enter. Then select F1 HMM wash pump. Close all instrument lids, then perform a system check. Refer to the operators guide for specifics on this procedure. If documenting using the paper logs from the dimension system operators guide, document the maintenance and the weekly slash monthly maintenance log sheet or instrument log sheet. Or if documenting using the electronic logs in the dimension system software, document the maintenance and the instrument log screen.
