SIEMENS Healthineers SIEMENS Healthineers .. ACUSON Maple Ultrasound System 5VT Transesophageal Transducer 1.0 Software Release 1 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers 2023 Unrestricted Speaker Notes: The purpose of this presentation is to serve as an overview of the 5VT transesophageal (TEE) transducer with the ACUSON Maple ultrasound system. Notes No. 1 SIEMENS Healthineers Objectives SIEMENS . Healthineers ... • Transducer and connection • Discuss transducer controls and operation • Review care and cleaning ACUSON Maple 2 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers 2023 Speaker Notes: This presentation will cover the following topics regarding the 5VT transducer: • Transducer connection • Discuss transducer controls and operation • Review care and cleaning Notes No. 2 SIEMENS Healthineers 5VT transducer SIEMENS . Healthineers ... • Similar to V5Ms in lens and rotary handle construction and function • Improved articulation sleeve material for durability • Twin Cam - Zero Insertion Force connector for seamless connection (no adapter is needed) 3 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers 2023 Speaker Notes: For those who are familiar with the V5Ms transesophageal transducer, the 5VT transducer is similar to the V5Ms in lens and rotary handle functionality. However, the 5VT transducer has a different articulation sleeve material providing improved durability, and it uses the same Twin Cam – Zero Insertion Force connection as the rest of the ACUSON Maple transducers. This means the 5VT transducer connects seamlessly to the ACUSON Maple system and does not require an adapter. Thermal management The system will use the following methods for thermal management of the transducer: • When the transducer temperature reaches 42°C a message appears with the option to reduce the transmit power or to continue imaging. Once the transducer cools to 41°C the transmit power resets. • When the temperature reaches 43°C imaging is suspended. The transducer must be disconnected and then reconnected once it has cooled. (Refer to the user manual, Chapter D3 in the Clinical Applications Guide for proper handling with overheating.) TIP: If the transducer begins to increase in temperature, de-activate any imaging mode other than B-mode and freeze the image to attempt to reduce the temperature. 14 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers 2023 Speaker Notes: The system will use the following methods for thermal management of the transducer: • When the transducer temperature reaches 42°C a message appears with the option to reduce the transmit power or to continue imaging.
