ACUSON P500 Ultrasound System 5VT Transesophageal Transducer Video

This video provides an overview of the 5VT transesophageal (TEE) transducer with the ACUSON P500 3.0 release.

For those who are familiar with the V5 Ms Transesophageal transducer, the five Vt transducer is similar in both lens and Rotary handle function. The five V transducer does have a different articulation sleeve material which provides improved durability and it also uses the same twin Cam 0 insertion force connection as the rest of the acuson P500 transducers. This means the five. It transducer connects seamlessly to the ultrasound system and does not require an adapter. Upon connection, the following message appears. Select OK to continue imaging as a quick review. There are two separate Rotary controls for anterior posterior flexion and left and right flexion. There are friction breaks on both sides of the handle. The array rotation control rotates the array within the distal tip of the transducer. The position of the ray corresponds to the scan plane. Which is adjustable from zero degrees to 180 degrees. Touch screen control for quick rotation of the array in 90 degree increments is available in system configuration for configuration of the touch screen controls on the left side of the screen. Open system configuration. Select the soft keys option. Select the desired touch screen placement for display and then select rotate as desired from the dropdown menu. Note that these quick rotation controls can also be configured for use with a foot switch or as user defined keys by going under custom keys and system configuration. There is an additional option for touch screen control for quick rotation of the array in 90 degree increments. For configuration of the touch screen control on the bottom of the screen. Open system configuration, select the soft keys option. Select the desired touch screen placement for display. And then select rotate 90 degrees from the dropdown menu. The following image displays the rotate 90 degree controls that have been configured on the touch screen. For the 5V transducer. Note that once these controls are configured, they are only operational when the five Vt transducer is in use on the system, otherwise they will be dithered. A scan plane indicator is on the imaging screen and displays the rotation angle of the scan plane. A temperature indicator is also located on the imaging screen and displays the current temperature of the transducer.

Disconnect and remove from the ultrasound system 2. While wearing protective gloves, remove and dispose of the transducer sheath 3. Select an approved cleaner and clean the distal tip and flexible shaft up to the 100 centimeter (cm) mark 4. Use clean gauze pads dipped in a mild soapy solution to wipe the cable, handle, articulation controls, and connector 5. Rinse the distal tip and flexible shaft 6. Clean the handle with a pad moistened in 70% isopropyl alcohol 7. Disinfect the transducer 1. Submerge distal tip and flexible shaft in approved disinfectant *Do not immerse the transducer more than 100 cm above the distal tip 2. Carefully follow the disinfectant manufacturer's instructions for high-level disinfection 3. Dry the transducer with gauze pads 4. Apply a Siemens Healthineers approved disposable tip protector before storage 5.
