Image Preset Configuration allows you to create, delete, hide or show presets, and configure the default transducer to the preset (i.e., the default transducer configured here will automatically be selected with the preset during patient registration). It also allows you to configure the default and order of the presets when a transducer is selected from the touch screen. The Image Presets and Default Transducers section controls preset availability on the ultrasound system. 1. Select Create Preset to create a new preset (discussed on next slide). 2. To assign the default transducer to a preset, select the preset and then select the name of the required transducer (the default transducer for the selected preset is highlighted in orange). 3. To remove the selected preset, select Delete and then select OK on the dialog box that will appear. Only custom presets can be deleted. 4. Uncheck the box associated with the preset to hide a preset from the patient registration menu and the touch screen. 5. Check Show All to display all presets. Transducers and Default Image Presets defines the default and order of presets on the touch screen when a transducer is selected from the touch screen. 6. The default preset for the selected transducer is highlighted in orange. A new default can be chosen from the list under Default & Order. If a preset is hidden under Image Presets and Default Transducers, it will not display under Transducers and Default Image Presets. If a default preset is hidden, the new default will be set to the highest order preset (preset displayed at the top of the list). 7. To reposition the preset in the list, select the preset and then select the up or down arrow. 8. Allows the export or import of presets via USB (discussed later in the presentation). 9. When you import presets, you must import the entire .image file (containing one, many, or all presets that were exported) from the USB. Presets from a previous software version will be ignored and cannot be imported. The process to import presets from a previous software version is performed in the full backup / restore under System Management > Service. 1. To export presets: Connect a USB to the system and select Export. Select the USB device from Available Media drop-down menu and then select the check box associated with the desired preset(s) or, choose Select All, and then select OK. An .image file is created on the USB. 2. To import presets: Connect the USB containing the .image file to a system and select Import. Image Preset Editor allows the customization of settings for any preset/transducer combination without the need to physically connect a transducer. The user-interface resembles the touch screen interface for ease of use. 1. Select the desired preset / transducer combination. 2. Select the desired preset settings under each page for each mode (i.e., 2D, Color, DTI, 4D, etc...) tab. The recommendation is to work from left to right since some modes are related. 3. The Restore Defaults control allows you to restore factory default settings in each mode for the selected preset / transducer combination. Other transducers under the selected preset are not reset or affected. For custom presets, the “Restore Defaults” control is visible but dithered out as it is unavailable. For default presets, the “Restore Defaults” control is visible but dithered out until a change is made. 4. For each mode, you can select the parameters from the touch screen to create the preset. In this example, we are selecting General as the default Color flow state. 5. The soft key parameters can be customized as well as the Depth, Gain and default Mode. Note: Actual values may not reflect imaging values due to certain dependencies. Actual values depend on the PRF / Frequency of the transducer. The system delivers as close to the predetermined target settings as possible. For example, the setting for “Steer” can be set for a linear transducer but if “Trapezoid” is also selected, the value is ignored. Use the Pointer to select one of the four tabs and display the available options. The active tab is highlighted in orange. The first tab, General, contains the options for system wide measurements settings such as: • Dotted line between calipers removal • Heart rate tool (number of cycles) • Show negative symbol (onscreen and report) Note: If “Show Negative Symbol” is not selected, values measured below the baseline will result in erroneous RI calculations. Measurement Display Area (MDA) configuration is also contained within the General tab. The user has the option to customize which calculations are displayed within the MDA by checking the box next to the desired calculation. Items that are not checked will not be displayed within the MDA. Note: The heart rate tool refers to OB. Options to alter these default settings on an individual label basis is contained within the Per Label Configuration tab, which will be covered later in this presentation. To customize the default settings for an exam package, use the Pointer and Set key to select the specific package from the drop-down menu, then choose the desired default tool options for 2D, Doppler and Volume Flow. The user can further customize the measurement label by selecting a unit and level of precision that will display in the report and the onscreen MDA when the label is used. For cardiac exams, the user can set the default number of heart cycles assessed when performing AI measurements on Doppler, DTI and M-mode. The options are 1, 2 and 3. The user can also increase or decrease the amount of heart cycles measured on the fly during an exam. The default carotid ratio option is available within this tab. The user has the option to select a specific segment for the ICA and CCA to be used for calculation of the ratio. If a specific segment is not desired, the option to use the maximum measured velocity, regardless of segment, can be selected. In this example, the system has been configured to use the maximum ICA velocity and the distal CCA velocity to calculate the ratio. Note that this configuration can be altered on a “per exam basis” on the report page of an opened exam should the user desire a different option than what is configured here. Once the exam is closed, the changes made on the report page for the ICA / CCA segments will return to what is configured here in the Exam Specific tab. For OB exams, the user has the option of what information they would like to be displayed on the screen during imaging. Use the Pointer and Set key to check or uncheck the available options. The options for display include: •LMP/DOC •Clinical Age •EDD •EFW Default tool types for both maternal and fetal measurements are found here as well as the auto OB measurement type. Be sure to check that the auto OB measurement type (BPD outer to outer or outer to inner) matches the region you are installing the system in. Report display options for gestational age and out of range are other OB options found under the Exam Specific tab. If desired, files can be renamed; however, the extension must stay the same. The system filters the files located on the USB by extension during restore or import. The system can see everything at the root directory so there is no need for folders. Note: For instructions on exporting and importing Measurement (.calc), Annotation (.anno) and Body Marker (.body) files, please refer to the ACUSON Origin Ultrasound System Measurement Configuration presentation and the ACUSON Origin Ultrasound System Text, Body Marker and Arrow presentation.
