This guidance informs you that the elbow must be adequately covered in the axial localizer. This helps to ensure diagnostic image quality. If you can’t achieve this coverage in the axial localizer, reposition the patient closer to the isocenter. Alternatively, position the patient in the superman position (see notes on positioning the elbow and wrist). Alternatively, use the next larger coil. • Secure the coil with straps and/or sandbags to stabilize the coil. To harmonize the protocols in the Siemens tree, a renaming took place on MAGNETOM 1.5T systems from syngo MR XA61A and upwards. You can find the second localizer without additional guidance under localizer_sag+cor+tra. If this coverage can’t be achieved in the axial localizer, reposition the patient closer to the isocenter. Alternatively, place the patient in the superman pose (see hints for elbow and wrist positioning).
