Eco Power Mode will turn off automatically when you press any key on any of the control devices or if there are running scanning tasks in progress. Eco Power Mode is off. Depending on your configuration, you can manually turn on Eco Power Mode or Eco Power Mode automatically turns on after a preset time period. Eco Power Mode is disabled. If you want to use Eco Power Mode, configure the Eco Power Mode settings in the Administration Portal first. The Gantry has several important elements that will be explored throughout the training. We will also take a closer look at the tablet and the wireless remote scan control to better understand how to operate these mobile devices. Let´s get started! ? Patient table This chapter gives you an overview of the characteristics and operating elements of the patient table. The patient table top is impervious to water. The table, mattress, and accessories are shaped such that they cause, if at all, only minimal artifacts. The markings on the positioning mat indicate the metal-free area of the patient table. You can activate the Move Table Top Only mode to increase the space between the table base and the gantry, for example, to position a C-arm device. If the Move Table Top Only mode is activated, you can move the table top into and out of the gantry while the table top support is fully retracted. The table can be lowered to a minimum table height of 37.9 cm (14.9 “) for easier patient accessibility. The maximum load in the center is 340 kg (750 lbs). The maximum table feed speed is 737 mm/s and the scannable range is 200 cm (78.7 inches) with patient table extension. Please do not place any objects underneath the patient table to avoid injury to the patient or personnel and damage to the equipment. The patient table is equipped with a safety stop function. It stops when a malfunction occurs. ? Storage box and side rail (optional) The storage box and the side rail are optional. The side rail also has two options: A long rail and a short rail. You can choose to attach these optional parts along one side or both sides of the patient table. You can then mount accessories and other material that is required during the complete examination workflow to the side rail. Please note: The table foot switch is an optional accessory. ? Manual table movement In an emergency, with the STOP key pressed or in a power failure, you can position the table top manually. Pull the handle towards the foot end of the table top and pull the table top out of the gantry. In an emergency, press the STOP key. All system movements are interrupted Radiation is stopped Once the emergency situation has been resolved, click the Resume button in the dialog box at the acquisition workstation. It is located on the gantry front. In an emergency, press the STOP key. All system movements, such as table movement or gantry tilting, are interrupted and radiation is stopped. Once the emergency situation has been resolved, click the Resume button in the dialog box at the acquisition workstation. ? Gantry operator panel Depending on the configuration, the system has up to four operator panels. With the gantry operator panel, you can control the gantry functions, move the patient table, and trigger scanning. All movement keys have two switching stages. Press light to trigger a slow movement. Press firm to trigger a fast movement. The function of the keys on the gantry operator panel are identical with the Remote Scan Control (RSC) and the control box. Select the colored callouts on the left to learn more. With the gantry operator panel, you can control the gantry functions, move the patient table, and trigger scanning. All movement keys have two switching stages. Feed In key Press this key to move the patient table into the gantry. Suspend key Press this key to suspend the scan procedure. This is the preferred method for interrupting a scan before completion. Do not use the STOP key to suspend the scan procedure. Feed Down key Press this key to move the patient table down. Unload key Use this key to unload a patient. Feed Out key Press this key to move the patient table out of the gantry. Start key Press this key to trigger a scan. The X-ray indicator is illuminated when ready for a scan or during a scan. This key is disabled if there is no in-room monitor or tablet installed. Feed Up key Press this key to move the patient table up. Move key Press this key to move the table to the preselected scanning position. ? Gantry X-ray indicator The radiation status of the system is indicated by the X-ray indicator on the gantry operator panel on the left and right of the gantry. There is an additional X-ray indicator on the gantry back. CARE 2D Camera (optional) The optional CARE 2D Camera (patient observation camera) is mounted on the gantry front and on the gantry back. The camera provides you with live images that allow a closer look at the patient during the whole examination, even when the patient is inside the gantry. If the patient requests it, you can turn off the camera. This image helps you with correct patient positioning, topogram planning, and collision indication. The camera system is equipped with an infrared light source and sensor, and an RGB (Red-Green-Blue) camera. It is positioned above the patient table. On your tablet, you can see the live image captured with the camera during the examination workflow. Software on your tablet For the optional FAST 3D Camera, there are software features available that you control in the Scan&GO application on your tablet. Select the tab arrows to learn more about these features. Grid Overlay Collision Indication Radiotherapy Mode Software on your tablet [fast_3d_cam_03.mp3] For the optional FAST 3D Camera, there are software features available that you control in the Scan&GO application on your tablet. Select the tab arrows to learn more about these features. Radiotherapy Mode For radiotherapy examinations with the FAST 3D Camera, there is an optional, license-depending Radiotherapy Mode available for Collision Indication. You can activate this mode in the Settings dialog Æ Radiotherapy tab of Scan&GO on your tablet. Just like before, if the system displays a potential collision, you can correct the position of the patient, accessories, or the table height before you move the patient table into the gantry. But in addition, when you press the Move button, the table automatically moves to the topogram target position in a horizontal direction only. The table height remains at the previously set values. Collision Indication The feature Collision Indication displays visual indicators for potential collisions between the patient and the gantry or an accessory before you move the patient table into the gantry. Like this, you can correct the position of the patient or accessories or the table height before you move the patient table into the gantry. Please note: In order to be able to use Collision Indication, You need the optional COLLISION_INDICATION_3D license. You first need to turn on the FAST 3D Camera in the Settings dialog of your tablet. Then turn on Collision Indication. The software will indicate potential collisions as yellow hatched areas and display a warning message on your tablet screen. Grid Overlay The feature Grid Overlay shows a grid on the live image of the Automatic Patient Positioning screen on your tablet. This overlay provides visual feedback for correct patient positioning. Please note: In order to be able to use Grid Overlay, You need the optional GRID_POSITIONING_3D license. You first need to turn on the FAST 3D Camera in the Settings dialog of your tablet. Then turn on Grid Overlay. To check correct patient positioning, the software will overlay the image of the patient with a grid that is aligned with the table. ? More * Subject to availability. Moodlight (optional)* CARE Funnel Light Is an ambient light which illuminates the gantry funnel. It uses LED lights integrated in the back part of the gantry funnel. Gantry ring Moodlight Consists of LED lights integrated in the gantry front cover. It provides a soothing, ambient light during the examination. CARE Moodlight Consists of LED lights on the gantry front cover and is used to indicate the different system states. Click the More button to learn more about the Moodlight and the system states. Moodlight (optional) Audio Filename: Naeotom Alpha.Peak HW OV OLT-0022.wav Audio Script: The CARE Funnel Light is an ambient light which illuminates the gantry funnel. It uses LED lights integrated in the back part of the gantry funnel. The Gantry ring Moodlight consists of LED lights integrated in the gantry front cover. It provides a soothing, ambient light during the examination. The CARE Moodlight consists of LED lights on the gantry front cover and is used to indicate the different system states. Click the More button to learn more about the Moodlight and the system states. Moodlight states overview Table with 2 columns and 4 rows State Description Scan countdown The LED lights are illuminated in white before the scan is started. The LED lights turn off sequentially, one after another, in a clockwise direction until all the LED lights are off, which indicates that the scan has started. Radiation on The LED lights are illuminated in yellow when the X-ray indicator is illuminated, and the scan is in progess. System startup After you switch on the system, the LED lights turn on sequentially, one section after another, in a counter-clockwise direction. They turn on until all of the LED lights are illuminated in orange, which indicates that the system has started. ? ? Play the video to see the system states that the Moodlight indicates. Select Overview to see an overview of the different Moodlight states. Please note: The Moodlight option is available for all Somaris 10 scanners with software version VB10 or higher and is here shown on a SOMATOM go. scanner. Moodlight states video Overview ? CARE Breathe To help patients understand the different audio instructions during a scan, CARE Breathe displays visual patient instructions (VPI) before, during, and after a scan if the scan range has a patient instruction. You can find the CARE Breathe display units on the gantry front and back in the gantry funnel. Visual patient instruction: The green animation signals the patient to breathe normally. The yellow animation signals the patient to prepare to hold their breath. The ring represents a visual count down. The red animation signals the patient to not breathe or swallow as long as the red animation is displayed. The ring represents a visual count down. CARE Breathe CARE Breathe Audio Filename: Naeotom Alpha.Peak HW OV OLT-0023.wav Audio Script: To help patients understand the different audio instructions during a scan, CARE Breathe displays visual patient instructions (VPI) before, during and after a scan if the scan range has a patient instruction. You can find the CARE Breathe display units on the gantry front and back in the gantry funnel. Please read through the different Visual patient instructions. ? Laser light markers To turn on the laser light markers, press the Light Marker key on the gantry control panel, the control box, or the Remote Scan Control (RSC). After approximately 1 minute or if a scan is started, the laser light markers are switched off automatically. If you want to switch off the laser light markers immediately, press the Light Marker key again. The laser light markers are laser beams that emanate from three points in the gantry opening. These points indicate the position of the scan center and the slice plane in the middle of the detector rows for the inner scan level and the outer offset level. The laser beams fan out so that you can see lines as a mark or a cross at the intersection of the beams. The laser beams visualize the gantry isocenter and the radiation exposure plane. Laser light markers Audio Filename: Naeotom Alpha.Peak HW OV OLT-0024.wav Audio Script: The laser light markers are laser beams that emanate from three points in the gantry opening. These points indicate the position of the scan center and the slice plane in the middle of the detector rows for the inner scan level and the outer offset level. The laser beams fan out so that you can see lines as a mark or a cross at the intersection of the beams. The laser beams visualize the gantry isocenter and the radiation exposure plane. Caution: Do not look directly into the laser beam or at its reflection on smooth, mirror-like surfaces during adjustment. To turn on the laser light markers, press the Light Marker key on the gantry control panel, the control box, or the Remote Scan Control. After approximately 1 minute or if a scan is started, the laser light markers are switched off automatically. If you want to switch off the laser light markers immediately, press the Light Marker key again. ? Smart connector board The smart connector board is located at the lower right side of the gantry stand.
