NAEOTOM Alpha - Transitioning from Dual Source Somaris 7 Scanners Video (Part 1)
Part 1 of this video guides you through the new features on the NAEOTOM Alpha scanner that might be particularly relevant for users experienced in our Dual Source scanners based on the Somaris 7 operating system.
This video is best viewed on either a tablet, laptop, desktop, or connected monitor. Not recommended to view on a smartphone.
NIA Tom Alpha transitioning from dual source Somera 7 scanners, part one. This video is intended to guide you through the new features in the Neo Tom Alpha that might be particularly relevant for experienced users in our dual source scanner's. Based on the Somera 7 platform. Topics covered in this video include. Go technologies and my exam companion. As in other scanners, based on the summaries 10 platform, the Neotoma alpha implements multiple GO technologies. These assist in operating the scanner efficiently with a holistic set of intuitive technologies that speak your clinical language. These functions can standardize and ease the full departmental workflow. Reduce repetitive workflow steps thanks to automation and allows to focus more on the patient and less on routine tasks. In the following we will introduce the single GO technologies to you. Let's start with the scan and go technology. The scan and go enables the mobile workflow in NIA. Tom alpha. The scan and go app can be found on the removable gantry tablets. This app enables you to perform basic workflows within the examination room. It is synchronized with the single acquisition workplace and all data is communicated wirelessly to the system. The tablet has touchscreen capabilities and functions consistent to any smartphone or tablet. In the scan and go app you can select the patient from the work list. Select the desired protocol from the patient model dialog. Set the patient orientation and utilize the fast 3D camera functions. Answer any my examcompass questions. Adjust the scan ranges. Finally, review the scan afterwards and initiate the reconstructions. The next GO technology is check and go. With check and go, the scanner automatically performs different quality assurance tasks during the image acquisition. For example, the system can inspect whether the scan has sufficiently covered the region of interest. When performing a contrast examination check and go can determine whether the contrast was sufficient throughout the examination. The user is then notified if either of these factors during the scan were not sufficient. Images can be reviewed after the scan in any plane desired in either a NPR or myth image. With only one click, the exam can be repeated if needed or to start the auto tasking of the reconstructions. Check in gold. Metal detection detects any metal objects on or near the patient which should be removed prior to the examination to avoid artifacts. Yellow boxes on the top of RAM image highlight the areas where metal has been detected. Check and go does not detect metal objects inside the patient. For example screws or metal plates. This check can be toggled on or off. Recon and goal. Another go. Technology makes post processing part of the standard reconstruction tasks. Time can be saved and workflow steps can be reduced by combining reconstructions and post processing. The multi Recon option provides the capability to group different orientations or image impressions into one reconstruction job. Inline results generates automatic post processing results utilizing body landmark recognition. Inline results will send the results automatically to the packs. This same workflow would previously need a 3D workplace to generate results such as 3D art images and perform specific organ characteristic reconstructions. In addition, spectral reconstructions are also possible and can be saved in the protocol with Recon and go. New with someries 10 you are no longer limited to only 8 reconstructions. You may now have an unlimited number of recons saved in any protocol. Finally, the last GO technology is view and go, which combines the viewing and 3D tab available in SOMERA 7 into one single application. View and go has more functionality compared to the SOMERA 7 tab cards and has the look and feel of MRE Ding on single via. View End goal can be used to process information as a post processing platform with such options like dual energy workflows, SP datasets, and interactive spectral imaging. Results from applications like lung, CAD, vascular or aspect score can be viewed or created, saved and sent to the packs with view and go. Now that we have covered the GO technologies, we will discuss the benefits of my exam companion. My exam companion is intelligence that works with you and launches the era of intelligent imaging. Using the new possibilities of digitalization, it turns data into built-in expertise. It guides operators through any procedure so they can interact easily and naturally with both patient and technology. No matter the patient operator or throughput it helps generate consistently excellent results and improves diagnostic accuracy. For Somera 7 customers, the way my exam companion works can be explained based on the fast phase for cardiac concept. In fast phase, when a cardiac protocol is selected, the auto feature in fast phase can be utilized to monitor the heart rate and variability. Depending on preset thresholds in the software, fast phase will automatically change the pulsing and Recon parameters in the scan to the optimal settings for the patient's heart rate. With my exam companion we call this automatic way of selecting scanned parameters decision trees. Here you can see how to navigate to the decision trees from the exam designer. In so Marist 10, the concept of automatically selecting parameters introduced in fast phase for somera 7 systems has been expanded and made more general to include more parameters and exam types, not only cardiac acquisitions. These trees can now be used for many different factors that can change between different scan modes and Recon parameters for many different exam types. Here is how a calcium score exam is now implemented in so mariss 10. My examcompass will again monitor the heart rate variability. Depending on the variability, different branches are followed in the decision tree. The branch selected contains the desired scan mode and scan parameters to be used. Separate and unique reconstructions can be set for each branch of the tree as well. Threshold settings come with default factors, but can also be tailored to the user's own desires. Again, my exam companion can be utilized for many different factors other than cardiac. For example, bodyside specific scanning and reconstruction. Turning on and off a contrast protocol. Utilizing a flashscan mode for patients unable to hold their breath in a thorax can. Or adjusting the dose for different scans on the same bodypart depending on exam type. These options will adjust automatically with input from the patient registration, the patient condition, or the technologist, eliminating the need to select an entirely new protocol.
