Navigation hints myExam Inflammation Visualization Assist With myExam Inflammation Visualization Assist, you can detect inflammation in its early stages. The system guides you through a smooth examination with: Preconfigured protocols Dental Focus Automatic slice positioning ? myExam Inflammation Visualization Assist Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_02 Use myExam Inflammation Visualization Assist to detect inflammatory activity in the dental tissue in its early stages. The system guides you through the entire process with: * preconfigured, ready-to-use protocols * and features for easy slice positioning Finding the protocols The preconfigured myExam Inflammation Visualization Assist provides protocols to show soft tissue contrast, in particular inflammation. This includes an anatomical overview and dedicated protocols to visualize inflammation. You can find the measurement program in the SIEMENS tree: SIEMENS > dental > Dental Assist > Inflammation visualization Please note: It is recommended to use SIEMENS protocols for measurement setup. ? Finding the protocols Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_03 myExam Inflammation Visualization Assist includes measurement steps to gain an overview of the patient’s anatomy and inflammatory activity. To access the measurement program, navigate to the Siemens tree. We recommend using the preconfigured Siemens protocols to set up dental examinations for optimal results. ? Preparing for the examination A few steps need to be completed before you can start the dental examination. Select the tab arrows to learn more about how to prepare for the examination. Preparing the coil Positioning the patient Registering the patient Preparing for the examination Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_04_a Several steps must be completed before you can start a dental examination. Select the tab arrows to learn more about each step. Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_04_b For dental examinations, a dedicated dental coil is available. The coil can be adjusted to the patient's anatomy. For detailed information on handling and adjusting the coil, see the operator manuals. Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_04_c Position the patient head-first in a supine position and use cushions to ensure their head is comfortable and stable. Place the coil as close as possible to the examination area to achieve optimal signal intensity. Use additional positioning aids to improve patient comfort and reduce movement during scanning. Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_04_d When registering the patient for a dental examination, provide the required personal information. Then select the myExam Assist measurement program from the Siemens tree. For dental examinations, the Head First-Supine orientation must be selected. After filling the mandatory fields, confirm the entries by clicking Exam. Registering the patient Register the patient in the Patient Registration window: Provide information on the patient's name, height, weight, etc. Select the measurement program from the SIEMENS tree. Select the patient’s orientation (Head First-Supine). Confirm the registration by clicking Exam. The measurement program will be loaded to the queue. Positioning the patient Position the patient in a supine position with the chin slightly tilted upward. Use the head cushion to ensure comfort and stability. If the patient's head is relatively small, the elevating cushion may be needed to position the coil closer to the patient's face. Adjust the face frame to bring it as close as possible to the dentomaxillofacial area. Align the patient's eyes with the eye position markings on the coil. Please note: Use any further positioning aids and cushions needed to suit the current situation. Positioning the coil A dedicated dental coil is used for dental examinations in the head-first orientation. Place the coil at the head end of the patient table and connect the plug. The dental coil is flexible, allowing you to adjust its angle and position to fit the patient's anatomy. For patients with anatomically smaller heads, use the elevating cushion to get closer to the coil and achieve a better position. Please note: For detailed instructions on preparing and cleaning the coil, refer to the operator manuals “Operator Manual – Dental Coil” and “Operator Manual – System and Coils”. ? Please watch this short video to see how to start the Inflammation Visualization examination. Performing the Inflammation Visualization examination Performing Inflammation Visualization examinations Audio file name: Inflammation_WBT_05_video-voice-over Video Voice Over: The Inflammation Visualization examination starts with the Patient View. The measurement program uses the Standard examination strategy. With the Dental Focus, you can select how much of the anatomical region will be visible on the MR images that are acquired over the entire examination. For example, a narrow focus will exclude more nonrelevant anatomical information from the images. By default, the Dental Focus is set to Medium. Confirm the setting by clicking Go. Then you start the scout step. The scout looks for specific landmarks in the dental anatomy and passes this information on to the subsequent steps that measure a 3D overview of the anatomy and inflammation activities. The acquired images are automatically loaded into the planning segments for further assessment. ? Course review Congratulations.
