This video introduces Auto Thorax Collimation as available for the MULTIX Impact C system.
Classical chest xrays are standard tasks. For the most radiology departments. But even routine tasks can be time-consuming if patients need a lot of help. The auto thorax collimation provides collimation, support for thorax examinations at the wall stand, giving you time to interact with the patient. Before you start working with auto thorax collimation, make sure the following prerequisites are fulfilled. The camera is configured for auto thorax collimation, a thorax or chest organ program. At the wall stand is selected. The collimator is in the zero degrees lock in position. The Bucky wall stand. VWS is in the zero degrees position. The X ray tube unit is positioned for the thorax organ program at the wall stand. After positioning the patient, adjust the position of the detector by pressing the button up and down to cover the complete region of interest. Otherwise the auto thorax collimation will not work correctly and you will need to repeat this step. The auto thorax function detects the thorax with the my exam 3D camera. It suggests a collimation for the thorax, including top or center alignment. The suggested auto collimation of the thorax is sent to the imaging system. Check the collimation and adjust it if necessary. This can be done in the examination room or in the control room. Please note adjusting the collimation manually deactivates the auto thorax collimation functionality. It can be reactivated by tapping the camera icon on the main monitor in the control room. Enable the virtual collimation function to adjust the collimation on the live image. If needed, confirm your selection by pressing confirm. Press the release button down fully and keep it pressed until the exposure is ended. The acquired images are shown on the imaging system the my exam 3D camera helps to produce standard chest images no matter who operates the system. To change settings for the auto thorax, column nation, you can predefine them in the organ program OGP editor. Log into the OGP editor and select the organ program that you want to edit. Make sure the organ program name is aligned with view position, or it can result in the wrong auto thorax collimation for the patients. A new window opens and you can define the body part as thorax as well as the view position as required. Save the updated organ program by clicking on save. The intelligent workflow system guides you through the imaging process even in challenging situations.
