Additionally, the user will gain the necessary knowledge to reconstruct and manipulate 3D images on the workstation. Proper use of system functions and features will empower operators with precise workflow, quick patient through put and user satisfaction. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: • Describe the different types of Real 3D exams • Correctly perform a Real 3D exam on the Multitom Rax • Perform the reconstruction of the 3D images on the workstation • Utilize the workstation to manipulate and save images to send to PACS • Identify key terms associated with 3D imaging and the workstation 6 Turnover Workbook | Multitom Rax Real 3D 1. Performing Real 3D Exams on the Multitom Rax 1.1 Objectives Notes • Identify the Real 3D exams available • Utilize the Multitom Rax to perform a Real 3D exam • Send the Real 3D images to the workstation • Perform a reconstruction on the workstation • Manipulate the reconstructed images • Create images to send to PACS 1.2 Types of Real 3D Exams • Real 3D Tableside exams are performed with the patient lying on the table with the desired extremity positioned (for example, a wrist). • Once the Real 3D Tableside program is selected, the View Position window will display. Please note: a) For standing 3D exams, place the RAXstand into the pre-defined position before moving the system into place (remove the tabletop from the table if necessary)/ b) For table-side upper extremities, move the system into place before attaching the arm board to the table. If a transfer position is configured, press and hold the SmartMove button Notes on the wireless remote control to move the system to the patient transfer position. i Press SmartMove button until patient transfer position is reached 4. Keep the SmartMove button on the wireless remote control pressed to move to the start position of the 3D run. i Keep SmartMove button pressed to move to the start position of the 3D scan 5. Check the region of interest of the patient lies in the light field and make sure that no collisions of the system with the patient occur. 6. Press and hold the SmartMove button on the wireless remote control to move to the second centering position. The system performs the 3D test run and moves the tube stand and detector stand along the programmed trajectory.. i Press SmartMove button on the remote control to start the 3D test run 10 Turnover Workbook | Multitom Rax Real 3D Notes 7. Make any necessary anatomy adjustments to set the center of the anatomy in the second position. Check whether the region of interest is positioned correctly in the light field.This will ensure that the object is in the isocenter. 8. Continue by pressing and holding the SmartMove button on the wireless remote control. The system will move back to the start position of the 3D run. i Press SmartMove button on the remote control to start the 3D test run 9. If the prerequistites for the 3D scan are fulfilled, the following message is displayed: i Position reached. Disengage button at remote control 10. Press the acquisition push button fully down and hold it pressed until all the acquisitions are finished. Please note: If you prematurely release the acquisition, you will abort the spin. i Press Acquisition switch to start the 3D run 11 Turnover Workbook | Multitom Rax Real 3D Notes 11. After the 3D run is finished, please disengage the x-ray switch. i 3D run finished - Disengage X-ray switch You now have the possibility to repeat the examination again. • If you press the SmartMove button, the system will move back to the patient transfer position. • If you press the lower left purple button, the system will move back to the start position. i 3D finished.
