This job aid provides guidance on how to perform a shut down, reboot, and place an MR System in standby for routine maintenance. MR Shut down, Restart, & Standby – Numaris X Job Aid MR Shut down, Restart, Standby - Numaris X Job Aid This job aid provides guidance on how to perform a shut down, reboot, and place an MR System in standby for routine maintenance. This Job Aid is applicable for the following MAGNETOM MR Systems on Numaris X software: Lumina, Aera, Avanto fit, Avanto Fit BioMatrix, Altea, Sola, Sola Fit, Vida, Skyra, Skyra fit, Skyra Fit BioMatrix, Prisma, Prisma fit, Cima.X, Cima.X Fit, Viato.Mobile, and the Terra.X. Siemens Healthineers MR Customer Service recommendations: • Siemens Healthineers recommends that the MR System is shut down daily. If not per- formed daily it is recommended to shut down and reboot a minimum of once a week. • After shut down (System Off), leave the MR System off a minimum of 30 seconds before restarting/rebooting the MR system. System powered up (ON) • System currently has error messages that require an orderly shut down and reboot. • System has a scheduled shut down and restart. Shutting down the computer system When switching off the computer system, the host computer, and MaRS (Measurement and Reconstruction System) also shuts down. • Save all patient and postprocessing data at the syngo Acquisition Workplace. • Close all workflows, examinations, and applications. • The spine coil on the patient table must be fully connected into the coil sockets. All other coils should be removed from the patient table. • Patient table must be in the home position. (i.e., table up and completely out of the bore). Restarting the syngo MR Acquisition Workplace • Coils on the patient table are fully connected in the coil sockets. • The spine coil on the patient table must be plugged in and fully connected into the coil sockets. All other coils should be removed from the patient table. • Position of the patient table must be up and all the way out of the MR System. • Save all patient and postprocessing data. Hints: • Leave the MR system off for a minimum of 30 seconds before restarting. • Do not move the patient table, tabletop, or connect coils when re-starting/rebooting. 1. On the Access bar, click on the Home Screen icon. 2. On the Home screen, select the Shut Down icon and choose Restart Workplace. The Restart Workplace window opens, click Restart Workplace. System Startup at the Alarm Box (System On) – process if MR System is currently shut down. • All daily functionality checks are completed. • Coils on the patient table are fully connected in the coil sockets. • The spine coil on the patient table must be plugged in and fully connected into the coil sockets. All other coils should be removed from the patient table. • The position of the patient table must be up and all the way out of the MR System. 1. On the Alarm Box, turn the key switch to the right SIEMENS (skip step if key switch is on). 2. Press the SYSTEM ON button on the alarm box. 3. The SYSTEM ON LED lights up and the MR system TO PRESS TO BEIMONE FIELD. is switched ON. 4. The software automatically starts at the syngo Acquisition Workplace. 2 TIM CHE 1 ED ED - Important Notes: • The MR System is typically only shut down and restarted at the alarm box if there is a system error. OR • If MR System timer was activated. Shutting down the system (System Off) • Switches the MR system Off and shuts down the computer system (software). • If the MR system is turned Off (software or host computer) for a lengthy period, press the Off button on the Alarm Box. • Shut down the syngo MR Workplace prior to the MR syngo Acquisition Workplace, to avoid any data loss. (i.e., if applicable). Starting/Ending Standby • If you do not intend to perform measurements for a longer time, or only need to edit or evaluate images, save energy by enabling Standby mode. • MaRS shuts down and the power saving mode of the MR cooling system turns on. • You cannot perform measurements in Standby mode. 1. The Home screen is open. 2. To start Standby, click the Shut down icon and select Scanner (System) Standby. 3. In the Standby System window, click Standby. 4. To end Standby, press the SYSTEM ON button on the alarm box.
