
MR Perfusion Maps - Numaris X
This job aid provides guidance on displaying Perfusion-Weighted images and creating Maps (PBP, TTP, relCBV, relCBF, and relMTT) using the MR Neurology workflow.
MR Perfusion Maps – Numaris X MR Perfusion Maps – Numaris X MR Neurology workflow is used to display and evaluate Perfusion Weighted images and to calculate Perfusion Maps, such as PBP, TTP, relCBV, relCBF, and relMTT. These perfusion maps show different perfusion characteristics of underlying tissue. Note: MR Perfusion datasets must either use distortion-correction or non-distortion correction image data, you cannot combine both. 1. From the Patient Browser, load the Perfusion data set into the MR Neurology workflow. a. Right-click on the examination and select Open with > MR Neurology. It determines the position of the 5x5 ROI in the images and chooses the individual voxels considered for multi-selection, an average signal-time curve is displayed. 1. In the lower right segment, select the Global AIF tab to create Perfusion Maps. 2. Scroll through the Perfusion Weighted Images. a. Select an image when the contrast agent arrives in the region of interest. b. Drag the ROI to the area of interest and position the ROI over arteries (smaller arteries not explicitly recognizable as vessels) in the upper left image. c. In the Lower Middle Segment, the signal-time curves for reaching voxel update accordingly. In the Lower Middle Segment, select curves of voxels that should be considered for calculating the perfusion maps. a. Select One Arterial Input Function (AIF) time-point (or) Depress Ctrl/Left mouse > select more than one AIF time-point. i. Note: curves with the flattest baseline and deepest curve are most suitable. ii. Note: The number of AIF time points is up to the Radiologist's discretion (i.e., be consistent in the number of AIF time points selected). b. Lower Left Segment: AIF selections are displayed as a red curve. 4. To calculate the Perfusion Maps, drag a line to: a. Beginning of the Baseline. b. End of Baseline. c. End of First Pass. Different arrival times of contrast medium are considered. iii. Note: only perform this step if the reference ROI is too far away from the ROI to be measured. 6. Select Start, the Perfusion Tools area closes during map calculation. a. Progress Bar in Case Navigator shows the status of the calculation process. b. Maps are created. c. Findings created: creates a snapshot where the AIF was specified.
