A wire localization can then be performed in these areas. The fenestrated compression plate immobilizes the breast and has a biopsy window. The biopsy win- dow contains an alphanumeric coordinate scale visible in the X-ray image. Fenestrated compression plate Laser cross-device HABEMENS 1. Remove the face shield and mount the laser crosshair device by sliding it onto the rails and securing the latch at the back, then switch it on by pressing the ON/OFF button at the back of the battery compartment. 2. Attach the fenestrated compression plate. NOTE: The system automatically chooses Auto decompression OFF when selecting the fenestrated paddle. Auto decompression will remain off for the entire study. Register the patient at the acquisition workstation. • Adjust the projection angle. • Position and compress the breast 4. Perform scout exposure. The Radiologist will review the image and localize the area of concern. 5. Select Tools from the top menu bar to use the crosshair tool. Select crosshairs in the dropdown. Slide the laser beams on each side of the laser cross-device to the desired position according to the coordinates of the compression plate. Note: The laser positioner is manually moved to align with the paddle coordinates where the lesion is seen on the X-ray image. 8. The intersection point of the cross indicates the position of the suspect area. 9. Continue with the wire localization. When changing to FULL breast image and standard paddle, you DO NOT need to select Decomp OFF in Advanced settings, and the laser crosshair device does not need to be removed.
