The table movement is blocked when the checkmark for the minimum compression reached is displayed on the stand display. Compression Force Changes by more than 15N or drops below 15N If the compression force changes by more than 15N, the following message indicates that the targeting may have changed. WH AWS The compression force changed by more than 15N or dropped below 15N. Sufficient compression for accurate target positioning cannot be ensured. Do you want to keep the current compression group? Yes No Select Yes to continue the examination – the compression group/target has not changed. Select No to interrupt the examination – the target may have changed, and a new scout is required. No = New Scout Anytime the patient is repositioned, the NO options should be selected to start a new compression/biopsy phase. Example scenario • The patient is positioned in the CC approach. • Stereo scout and stereo pair have been acquired, the target is unreachable. • The decision is made to reposition to the LM approach. Compression is raised for repositioning. • Select No to the onscreen message. All remaining stereo pairs will go away. You must add scout, pairs, etc., in the LM approach. Note: Do not select Yes in this scenario. Targeting accuracy is not guaranteed. Unrestricted | Published by Siemens Healthineers AG, 2025 Master Template Effective Date: 3/5/2020 | HOOD05162003074494 Job Aid Effective Date: 02/03/2025 | QR700018534 6 Biopsy Quick Guide I MAMMOMAT B.brilliant Yes = continuing with the exam (ex., the needle is in the breast). Select Yes to this message using the following scenarios as a guide. Example scenario 1 • At the beginning of a new biopsy, the patient needs to be repositioned. • Did Not select New on the workstation before releasing compression to reposition. • Select Yes to the onscreen message. • It is recommended that New be selected on the scout image before repositioning. OK New Note: This applies Only if a stereo pair and/or a tomo biopsy image has not been taken. Example scenario 2 • The patient is positioned in the CC approach. • Biopsy compression force began at 55N; after inserting the needle, the compression force changed to 39N. • The compression Force changed, but the compression Thickness has not. • Select Yes to the onscreen message and verify that the target has not changed. This can be done by taking a stereo pair and retargeting if necessary. • If the target has not changed, No further action is needed. Example scenario 3 • The biopsy is complete. • Post-biopsy images are done under the same accession number as the biopsy. • When compression is released, select Yes to the onscreen message. This will allow you to continue with the non-biopsy images. • If No is selected, you must close the exam and open a new procedure to take the post- images. Reason: The first image in a biopsy must be a scout. How to Re-target and Transmit Note: If the target has changed significantly, you must raise the needle out of the breast before transmitting the new target. Once raised, transmit the new target. Set a new target on the active stereo pair • Transmit the target from the AWS • Press the override button, and the needle holder will move ... • Keep the override button pressed until the needle holder reaches the newly transmitted • target. A checkered flag is displayed next to the target number in the top line. Ensure that the skin at the newly targeted area has been anesthetized before inserting the • biopsy needle.
