Layout Editor - Overview (USA)

The Layout Editor is a tool that allows you to create new layouts and modify existing ones. Within the layout editor, you can define the number of image segments, their size and distribution, and the images that should be displayed in each of the image segments. Please keep in mind that the user interface may differ slightly on different host systems. You can start the layout editor from the layout gallery or from the tool gallery. The layout that is active when you launch the layout editor is now available for editing. Please note that there are some restrictions for editing stack layouts. To enjoy the full functionality of the layout editor, you need to start from a nonstack layout. The layout editor opens in a subpanel that can be minimized without losing the actions performed so far. If the subpanel is minimized, just expand it and you can continue editing your layout. The layout editor provides you with several tools to modify the geometry of the layouts. To change the size of image segments, use the resize. Tool with the left mouse button. Adjust the borders of the image segments as desired. By pressing Alt on your keyboard, you can modify a single border and create asymmetric geometries. To merge 2 image segments into one, use Merge Segments. To use this tool, you first need to select two adjacent segments of the layout. These image segments must have a common border. If the segments do not share a complete border, the tool is dimmed. Press the control key on your keyboard and left click on the adjacent segments you want to merge. Once selected, the Merge Segments tool is enabled. You can then adjust the size using the resize tool if desired you. Can also split one image segment into two segments. The splitting can be done either horizontally or vertically. These options are available in the drop down menu that you find after clicking on the small arrow located on the Split Segments tool to. Split a segment vertically, select. The desired image segment and click on the Split Segment vertically tool. The image segment is then split vertically in half using the resize tool. You can then adjust the size of the image segments. The split segment horizontal tool works in the same way and the segment is split horizontally in half. Please note that for technical reasons, the merge and split tools are blocked in certain layouts, for example in the Stripe or NPR layouts if. You want to edit the images to be displayed in the image segments. Use the Data Assignment tool. To learn how to use this tool, please refer to the dedicated video. You can also define the content of the image segments by dragging the desired image series from the series navigator. If you want to edit the properties of the image segments, use the Visualization Editor tool. To learn how to use this tool, please refer to the dedicated video. You can also define the properties of the image segments using the tools available in the corner menus. Once you have finished editing the layout, do not forget to save the layout. Use either Save Layout or Save layout as. Hint If you modified an original Siemens layout, you can only select Save Layout as. You can also create a completely new layout using the Change Geometry tool to do this left. Click on Change geometry and select the desired number of image segments using the drop down matrix. Hover the mouse pointer over the matrix and confirm the selection with a left click on the lower right corner of the selected matrix. If you work with a dual monitor configuration, repeat the same steps for the second monitor. A new layout is then available to you and ready for editing. Do not forget to save the. Layout once you have finished it, to close the layout editor, click on the top right cross of the subpanel note. That you will lose all unsaved changes your new saved layouts.
