Dr. John Mitsios  holds a PhD degree in chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Greece, and is a postdoctoral fellow at the San Diego-California School of Medicine. His main research interest is in coagulation, with an emphasis on the laboratory diagnosis of bleeding disorders. He was an assistant professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an assistant clinical chemist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Most recently, he was deputy director of the Specialty Coagulation Laboratory at BioReference Laboratories and co-author of 20 peer-reviewed articles and three book chapters. Currently, he is a senior clinical hemostasis consultant at Siemens Healthineers.
