Knee Exam with Contour Coil | Position Patient

The video shows you how to position a patient for knee exam with contour coil.
Target group: Basic users.

In this video you will learn how to position a patient for a knee examination by using the contour knee coil. Before performing the examination, register the patient by filling in the required data. Select the program. Position the base plate in the corresponding recess on the patient table so that it won't move. To improve patient comfort and position, use a foot or ankle cushion plug in the coil and position the foot or ankle cushion with the cut, covering and protecting the coil plug. Rotate the knobs on the sides of the coil to the unlocked position and move the coil laterally to the knee you want to scan. Then rotate the knobs again to the locked position. Place the leg cushion near to the coil base. Hint center the coil as much as possible in the left right direction to obtain optimal image quality. Open the fastening strap and the flexible wings. Position the patient on the table in the feet first, supine position with the feet lying on the foot or ankle cushion. Shift the patient to the side of the table when necessary. In this way, the need to be examined fits in the coil base and the other knee fits on the supporting cushion. Check you center the knee in the coil and wrap the flexible wings around the patient's knee. Then secure the coil with the fastening strap. Use the appropriate position aids under the patient elbows for patient comfort. Give the patient the headphones and the alarm ball. Check again that you position the patient safely and ensure that no body parts are touching. Make sure that the coil cable lies on the table and is not hanging loose over the side. Use select and go auto positioning. If not available, enter ISO input manually. Finally, press the Jogwell button to advance the table into the bore at the ISO center.
