This online training will provide an overview of the features and functionality of the IMT pump and IMT calibration across different Dimension integrated systems. ? IMT Sample Positioning Performing an IMT pump alignment ensures accurate sample positioning across the QuikLYTE® Multisensor. Positioning can be affected by: IMT pump tubing wearing over time (replaced monthly) Protein buildup from serum and plasma Pinched or leaking tubing Impeded salt bridge flow IMT Sample Positioning image: thm_EXLIMTPump640.jpg audio file name: DimensionIMTCalibrationslide1.2audio.mp3 script: The IMT Pump alignment ensures correct placement of the patient or standard sample in the QuikLYTE® multisensor for measurement. Sample position can be affected by worn IMT pump tubing, protein buildup, pinched or leaking tubing, or restricted salt bridge flow. ? Automatic Pump Alignment A pump alignment is performed to compensate for any variation in system tubing volumes and pumping efficiency. Before every 2-point calibration, the IMT system uses Standard A to perform an automatic pump alignment and then stores a pump rate on the Pump/Alignment screen. The IMT pump pulls Standard A from the reagent bag and pumps small increments until the liquid is detected by the sensor, resulting in the pump rate number. Tips Automatic Pump Alignment image: DimensionIMTAutomaticPumpAlignment.png audio file name: DimensionIMTCalibrationslide1.3audio.mp3 script: Automatic pump alignment is performed using Standard A before every 2 point calibration. The IMT system uses Standard A to perform an automatic pump alignment and then stores a pump rate which can be seen on this screen. The IMT pump pulls Standard A from the reagent bag and pumps small increments until the liquid is detected by the sensor as properly placed, resulting in the pump rate number. Click the tips button to learn more about automatic pump alignment. Tips To access the Fluids Prime/Pump Alignment screen, select: F4: SYSTEM PREP F3: IMT F3: ALIGN/PRIME If the liquid segment is not detected during automatic pump alignment, an IMT FAILED TO AUTOALIGN error is displayed. The IMT system automatically performs a 2-point calibration every 2 hours to maintain precision and accuracy. Select the tab arrows to learn more about IMT Calibration.
