The HASTE_diff sequence is already available on other systems below 3T. With Software Version XA50 it is now also offered at 3T. The RESOLVE technique may not depict a cholesteatoma in every case, because of local susceptibility variations induced by R magnetic field inhomogeneities, resulting in artifacts or signal cancellation making the diagnosis sometimes difficult. HASTE diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) is intrinsically less sensitive to susceptibility variations and is therefore a well-suited method for the detection of pathologies in regions with large magnetic susceptibility variations on a clinical 3T scanner. 3 3 Effective Date: 09 Aug, 2022| HOOD05162003294634 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2022 Cholesteatoma: Comparison of different sequences SIEMENS Healthineers Here is an example showing the HASTE_diff mode compared to some different sequences for a 28-year-old patient. a) HASTE DWI at 1.5T b) HASTE DWI at 3T c) RESOLVE at 3T R R RESOLVE at 3T from the same slice as in image b is depicted in image c. In all cases, diffusion-weighted images with b = 1000 s/mm² are shown. White arrows point to the position of the cholesteatoma. 4 Effective Date: 09 Aug, 2022| HOOD05162003294634 Unrestricted © Siemens Healthineers, 2022 SIEMENS Healthineers Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only.
