FlexLab™ X Total Lab Automation As Needed Maintenance on the Sealer Module Job Aid

This job aid provides instructions on how to perform as needed maintenance on the Sealer Module. 

FlexLab TM X Total Lab Automation SIEMENS Healthineers As Needed Maintenance on the Sealer Module Job Aid Replace the Sealer Coil on the Sealer Module Refer to the FlexLab X Total Lab Automation Operators Manual when performing maintenance procedures. 1. Set the module Off-line 6 2. Select Flush Carriers entry and confirm 3. Prepare the Sealer Module for reel change and release the aluminum stripe from the Foil Locker: A. Select Sealer button in Overview screen B. Select Diagnostics C. Select Reel D. Select Prepare For Reel Change function button 4. Check the heater temperature. Wait until the value corresponding to the Sealer – Heater Analog sensor is 55°C/131°F or less before continuing. It will take approximately 30 minutes to cool down 5. Open the Sealer Module cover 6. With thumbs on the reel axis, grasp the Sealer coil with your fingers. Pull coil toward you while pushing your thumbs against the reel axis and remove the Sealer coil Template Effective Date: 10 Aug 2021 | HILS 2223 1 * This procedure is continued on the next slide. Remove the safety tab from the new sealer coil B 8. Install the new Sealer coil by aligning the peg (A) of the reel support with the cavity (B) in the Sealer coil case. The shiny surface of the aluminum stripe should be toward the top, the dull surface toward the bottom 9. Pull the aluminum stripe and place it as shown in the image. Then, insert the stripe under the Foil Locker (C) ensuring it is positioned on the Sealer coil sensor (D), slide the aluminum D stripe under the Puller (E), and then under the Cutter (F) 10. Close the Sealer cover 11. If changing the foil capacity, set the Sealer Reel Capacity: 9 Overview > select Sealer > select Settings > select Setup > select Number of Foils in a New Reel function button 12. Reset the reel counter and initialize the new coil by cutting some pieces of foil: Overview > select Sealer > select Diagnostics > select Reel > select Init Foil Reel C E F 13.
