Functions audf_fast_tech_fast_plan_5_7_recon_08.mp3 The FAST Planning feature has a number of functions: It analyses the topogram, uses defined anatomical landmarks, and pre-sets the scan and recon range. Scan regions of interest (so-called ROI ) are automatically detected on the basis of the characteristics of the organ to be scanned. This process is powered by ALPHA technologies.   FAST Planning allows users to select anatomical ROI from a pre-defined list. The Recon region can be defined on the Recon card. Each folder consists of different country-specific ranges. The list depends on the topogram (a.p. or lateral). And if no region has been detected, “none“ is selected. The width is defined by: Wide: includes the soft tissue (tendon) by default. Narrow: excludes the soft tissue to the bones. Here you can set the values for the Upper limit max. scan time in seconds or the Lower limit max. mAs in percent. The Upper limit max. scan time defines the maximum scan duration. In this example, the scan time will not exceed 20 seconds. When resolving a dose conflict, the system always tries to prolong the scan in the first instance. If the limit has been reached and the dose conflict still persists, the mAs will be changed. The Lower limit max. mAs value indicates by how many percentage points you want to reduce your initial mAs value. Technically, you can enter a value between 0% and 100%. The Spine Disc mode provides a reconstruction range placed and oriented on a specific disc. By clicking on another disc, the range will follow. Changing the FoV or the range exits FAST Spine. Labels will be deleted. Changing back to FAST Spine reactivates FAST Spine. 12 FAST Spine | Recon Modes | Spine Disc (2.) ? Decision: Keep image quality or examination time constant Conflicting values displayed in yellow - values shall be in green zone for valid scan range Contains sliders and buttons to easily resolve conflicts Pitch and scan time inversely related Upper limit max. scan time (in sec) defines max. scan duration Lower limit max. mAs (in %) indicates by how many percentage points initial mAs value gets reduced Available with * SOMATOM Scope, SOMATOM Scope Power, SOMATOM Perspective ** SOMATOM Definition AS, SOMATOM Confidence, SOMATOM Definition AS+, SOMATOM Definition Edge, SOMATOM Edge Plus, SOMATOM Definition Flash, SOMATOM Drive, SOMATOM Force Understand FAST Planning – Somaris 5 & 7 FAST Planning helps, based on the topogram, to plan scans and reconstruction for easier and more standardized workflows. Analyse topogram, use defined anatomical landmarks, scan and recon range are pre-set Region of interest (ROI) set automatically depending on characteristics of organs Allows users to select anatomical ROI from pre-defined list Benefits: Improve clinical results: easier to reproduce Workflow more standardized: safer and faster Disclaimer ?
