
Using Dual Energy SPP Slider Bar in Postprocessing
This job aid discusses how to use the slider bar to select an optimum image on a Dual Energy scan.
Dual Energy Reconstructions: Using the Slider Bar to select desired energy SOMATOM go.Sim, go.Open Pro; VA30/VA40 There are several methods for selecting the desired energy for dual energy reconstructions. One of these methods is described below: 1. Log in to the system as a SuperUser. 2. Select Exam Designer from the Settings (cog wheel) menu. 3. Select the Factory Default protocols under the RTP folder for either the Abdomen or Head & Neck, as the process is the same. 4. Click the Modify Protocols button on the bottom right of the screen. 5. Make the necessary adjustments to the scan and reconstruction parameters as needed. Note: In the VA30 software version, the default Head & Neck protocol has two reconstruc- tions already available, and the default Abdomen protocol does not. 6. If needed, right mouse click on the Abdomen reconstruction and select Repeat. 7. Rename the reconstructions for better clarity. 8. Adjust one of the reconstructions for 120kV. The below can be the base Dual Energy sec- tion of the final protocol. In the VA40 software version, the SPP is done during the reconstruction process so this step will be skipped and show you the KeV energy below.
