In this course, you will learn how to monitor and replace IMT consumables across the Dimension Integrated Systems Family of analyzers. ? Monitoring IMT Consumables The IMT system monitors when you need to replace IMT consumables. If an IMT consumable needs to be replaced while the Load List contains patient samples for electrolyte testing, the Operating Conditions Status area of the screen will display a red Check Needs icon. If a calibration is due while an IMT consumable needs to be replaced, an “Insufficient IMT Consumables” error message appears in the Error Message area of the screen. Monitoring IMT Consumables image (top): IMTConsumables_Redcheckneeds.png image (bottom): InsufficientIMTConsumables.png script: The IMT system monitors needs for consumables and alerts the operator. During sample processing, the red Check Needs icon will be displayed and during Calibration the error message Insufficient IMT Consumables will post. ? Select the numbered steps below to learn more about replacing IMT consumables. 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 Change IMT Consumables Screen base layer: image - IMTConsumables_ReplacingIMTConsumables.png script - IMT consumables are replaced easily using the Change IMT Consumables screen that displays assays remaining, time left, and instructions for updating the count. After replacing IMT consumables and storing the change the system automatically primes and calibrates as needed. To view the Change IMT Consumables screen, select F4: System Prep, F3: IMT then F1: Change Consumables -------- Replacing Fluid IMT Consumables layer: image - IMTConsumables_ReplacingIMTConsumables.png script - When you replace IMT fluid consumables, the system automatically: Primes the solution that was replaced, Schedules an IMT calibration if you replace Standard A, Standard B, or Salt Bridge or Flush solution, and Performs an IMT calibration after exiting the Change IMT Consumables screen. -------- -------- Standards A, B, and Flush Solution Layer: image - standardandflushsolutions.jpg script - Standard A is used when the IMT system performs a two-point calibration, a one-point calibration to check for drift after processing a sample or an automatic pump alignment. Standard B is used only to perform a two-point calibration. Standards A and B are stable for 21 days on the instrument after opening. Standard A, Standard B and Flush bags must be positioned in their tray with the fittings down. As the Standards and Flush are consumed, roll the bags to minimize condensation -------- Salt Bridge Solution and Sample Diluent Layer: image - IMTConsumables_saltbridge_samplediluent.jpg script - Do not pool Salt Bridge Solution or QuikLYTE Sample Diluent. If the two dip tubes touch, you could contaminate the liquid in the new bottles. QuikLYTE® Sample Diluent is stable for 21 days on the instrument after opening -------- QuikLYTE Multisensor layer: image - IMTConsumables_IMTSensorInterface.jpg script – The multisensor should be replaced after 5 days or 1000 samples, whichever occurs first. After you replace the sensor, the system automatically primes the Salt Bridge Solution. When priming is complete, the IMT Condition and Dilution Check screen appears so that you can run a condition and dilution check. This will condition the new sensor and check the accuracy and precision of the 1:10 dilution. QuikLYTE® Multisensor Note the following when replacing the QuikLYTE® Multisensor: Replace the multisensor after 5 days or 1,000 samples (whichever occurs first). After you replace the sensor, the system primes the Salt Bridge Solution. When priming is complete, the IMT Condition and Dilution Check screen appears so that you can run a condition and dilution check.
