This job aid will review daily system checks on systems with VExx software. 

Daily System Checks & Troubleshooting (VExx) job aid Angiography – ARTIS software VExx An additional job aid is available on PEPconnect to determine the software version of the system. Daily system checks should be performed before the start of cases. Start of day 1. Turn System On (1) a) Make sure the on-site main switch is switched on. (2)- (3) 2. Unplug the wireless foot pedal. 3. Test Fluoro and Acquisition. 4. The imaging system continuously informs you about its status. Check system messages on the message bar on the Exam Room/Control room monitors. a) If any message has SC on the message bar, contact the Siemens Service Center i. 1-800-888-7436, and follow the prompt to Technical Support, provide your Func- tional Location Number. 5. Activate Stream to display Siemens Live and Reference image on the 3rd party monitor as applicable. 7. Confirm that the Block Movement and Radiation buttons are inactive. 8. View and configure the Siemens large screen display, if applicable. End of day 1. Shut the System down. a) Home > Power Button > Shut Down System DOD Examination System Messages Lock G b) Shut down should be performed every 24 hours. 2. Plug the Wireless Foot pedal in. a) Footswitch has a range of approx. 5 m (16 ft). b) Footswitch can be used during the procedure while plugged into a power source if needed. The message "Collision control deactivated" appears. Soft Reboot Simultaneously, press the ? key and the emergency STOP button on the Pilot control module. The computer will restart and should be ready for operation shortly. Once completed, pull the emergency STOP button out. ? STOP Emergency Shutdown button (EPO) The emergency SHUTDOWN button is used to immediately switch off the electric power of the entire system in an emergency. This shutdown is like a power failure, an uncontrolled process. Therefore, use this button only in an extreme emergency, such as a fire. Using the emergency SHUTDOWN button (installed on-site) means that: • All unit movements will be interrupted. • Radiation will be turned off. • The current system program will be interrupted. • Current operating sequences will be interrupted and cleared. • All current acquisition data will be cleared unless saved to non-volatile memory. • Data like unsaved images, exporting, filming, jobs, etc., could be lost. • The tube cooling system is also disconnected from the power supply, and the tube can overheat. • If a flat detector is used, it is also disconnected from the power supply. After the power has been switched on again, an additional waiting time is required to ensure optimum image quality.
