CT Safety Training - System Checkup and Daily QA Video
This CT safety training video introduces you to how to perform the system checkup and daily QA on your CT system.
CT safety training. System checkup and daily QA. To ensure image quality is stable even under variable environmental conditions, it is important you perform a system checkup once you start the system and then run a daily quality assurance approximately one hour later. The system checkup will only take approximately 5 to 6 minutes and is required regardless of whether the CT scanner was used continuously or intermittently. This calibration is important when the gantry has been powered off, for example overnight or between working shifts. The Daily quality test is automated. You can perform the whole test according to the guidance on the screen. Before you start the quality measurement, you must perform the calibration and position the Phantom set. To access the daily quality function on the access bar, click the settings icon and from the menu choose daily QA. Alternatively, on the home screen, click system check and from the Navigation Pane on the left of the system check window, select Daily QA. Instructions on the daily quality test are then displayed. For the daily QA or the system check you need to mount the Phantom set at the head end of the patient table with the Phantom holder. The video here will show you how this is done. After you have properly attached the Phantom. Please set the gantry tilt to zero degrees. Then using the remote scan control, move the table until the laser light markers are set for the reference marking point that is on the slice thickness portion of the Phantom. The daily quality measurements only require checking of three parameters on the water Phantom. The CT value of water and the homogeneity of the images are calculated in Hounsfield units. The pixel noise of the images is calculated as a standard deviation. And tube voltages are measured directly at the X ray tube.
