Simulation Brain Hemorrhage & Skull Unfolding Recon&GO (VA40 software version): Brain Hemorrhage and Skull Unfolding Step 1: Select the Head Trauma [factory] Scan Protocol Preconditions: Head Trauma [factory] Scan Protocol + Topogram Scan [Audio file audf_ct_va40_brain_hem_skull_unfold_sel_prot_01.mp3] In emergency imaging, time is brain when it comes to the detection of a suspected intracranial hemorrhage or of skull fractures and thin brain surface hematomas. With the Brain Hemorrhage and Skull Unfolding features, the VA40 software includes two dedicated features to speed up the workflow in emergency procedures. There are two steps necessary before using the Brain Hemorrhage and Skull Unfolding features. We will quickly show you how to perform these two steps. The first step is that you select the Head Trauma [factory] protocol for the current patient in the Scan Protocol Selection. You can also select other scan protocols which contain the scan mode RoutineSpiralAdultHead. Prepare for Topogram Scan 1 [Audio file audf_ct_va40_brain_hem_skull_unfold_sel_prot_02.mp3] In the Head Trauma [factory] scan protocol, the correct tube position Top is already set which is different from routine head scans. Step 2: Perform the Topogram Scan Prepare for Topogram Scan 2 [Audio file audf_ct_va40_brain_hem_skull_unfold_sel_prot_03.mp3] The second step is that you perform the Topogram scan with the Head Trauma [factory] scan protocol. Select the Brain Hemorrhage icon to open the Recon Parameter Panel. Open the Recon Parameter Panel [Audio file audf_ct_va40_brain_hem_skull_unfold_sel_recon_range_01.mp3] Let’s check the trauma parameters after the Topogram scan is done. Icons for the Head recon jobs get displayed in the Recon Ranges area. [Audio file audf_ct_va40_brain_hem_skull_unfold_sel_recon_range_02.mp3] By hovering over the head icons with your mouse, tool tips display the name of and further information about the recon job.
