Create Maintenance Tasks and Maintenance Plans Video
This video demonstrates how to create maintenance tasks and maintenance plans using POCcelerator™ Web.
Maintenance tasks are divided into 3 different task types, Device specific manual, which are tasks that can be assigned to a particular device model. Device Specific Automatic, which are tasks that can be assigned to device models and can communicate the completion of these tasks. In general, tasks, which are tasks that are assigned to locations and cannot be assigned to specific device models. To create a maintenance task, we must begin by navigating to Devices, then Maintenance Tasks. From the Maintenance Tasks screen, select the Add New Tasks button in the Maintenance task popup window. Start by entering a name for the task, then select the task type. If you are creating a manual or automatic device specific task, a task that can be assigned to a particular device model, select the device model. Additionally, for automatic device specific tasks tasks that can also communicate the completion of a task, you can add a predefined maintenance event message that will be associated with the task. Then select the Schedule field to open the Edit Schedule window and create a schedule for the Maintenance task. Select Apply to confirm the schedule. Select the Enabled checkbox to make the task available to be assigned to a maintenance plan and utilize the Instructions fields if necessary. Then select Save. The new maintenance task can now be found at the bottom of the table. To update an existing maintenance task schedule, select the Tasks edit pencil icon, then select the Schedule field from the Edit Schedule window. Update the Maintenance task schedule as desired and then select Apply. Then select Save. Now let's review how to create a maintenance plan. Start by navigating to Devices, then Maintenance Plans. From the Maintenance Plan screen, select the Add New Plan button. When creating a maintenance plan, you can decide between two maintenance plan options. First, you can create a device specific plan in one or more locations, IE all epoch devices located in the ICU. This allows you to add manual and automatic device specific maintenance tasks to your plan. Or second option, you can create a maintenance plan associated to one or more locations but not device specific. This allows you to only add general tasks to the plan. In this example, let's create a device specific plan associated to a location in the Maintenance Plan popup window. Start by entering a name for the plan, then select the device model from the drop down list of authorized device models. Use the location tree within the Locations drop down to assign the maintenance plan to one or more authorized locations. Additionally, the Material Used Required checkbox and Comments Required radio buttons can be used to determine which maintenance recording fields are required for the plan. Then select Add, Remove Task from the Tasks window. Utilize the Task checkboxes to add maintenance tasks to the plan. Again, remember, only device specific tasks will display in the Tasks window because in this example we are creating a device specific maintenance plan. Optionally, the Suspended checkbox can be used to add a task to the plan but not perform it initially. Then select Apply when done and select Save.
