Cleaning the IMT System on the Dimension® Family of Integrated Chemistry Systems
Learn how to clean the IMT system on the Dimension® Family of Integrated Chemistry Systems.
Monthly cleaning of the IMT system Tubing and IMT port with bleach destroys sensitive electrode membranes in the Quicklight Integrated Multisensor. With the instrument in standby, access the IMT System Clean screen from the operating menu by selecting F4 System Prep, F3 IMT, F8 IMT Sysclean. From the IMT System clean screen, select F3 Open Port. Dispense approximately 1 milliliter of undiluted bleach into the IMT port 10 times. Allow the port to empty completely before each subsequent addition of bleach. Next, dispense approximately 1 milliliter of water into the IMT port 10 times. Allow the port to empty completely before each subsequent addition of water. Select F3, close port, Fill the port with undiluted bleach. And select F8 Start Soak. The fluid sits inside the tubing for two minutes. When the soak is complete. The system automatically primes standard A. When this process is completed. Fill the port with fresh serum or plasma free of hemolysis, ictorus or lipemia. Select F8. Start soak. Make sure the fluid is flowing in the tubing. The fluid sits inside the tubing for two minutes. When the soak is completed. The system Prime standard a select F7 change sensor. Next, follow the operator's guide instructions to replace the Quicklight Integrated Multisensor. The sensor must be replaced after bleaching the IMT system. Select F7 Change Sensor. The screen updates with the maximum assays and time for the new Quicklight sensor. Enter the new lot number for the new sensor. Select F8 Store Change. After the sensor is replaced, the system will automatically prime the salt bridge solution and display the IMT condition and dilution check screen. Perform the dilution check procedure. For additional information on this procedure, refer to the Operators guide Replacing IMT Consumables, running a Dilution Check. If documenting using the paper logs from the Dimension System Operators Guide, document the maintenance in the weekly slash, monthly maintenance log sheet or instrument log sheet, or if documenting using the electronic logs in the dimension system software, document the maintenance in the instrument log screen.
