Removing and Inserting the Anti-scatter Grid Job Aid Cios Select This job aid explains how to remove the anti-scatter grid of the Cios Select when preparing the system, and how to insert the anti-scatter grid when the examination is completed. Removing the anti-scatter grid (for example, for pediatric examinations or extremities) reduces radiation dose as well as image quality. Removing the Anti-scatter Grid 1. Loosen the knurled screw on the underside of the anti-scatter grid. 2. Carefully pull out the anti-scatter grid from its holder. Put the anti-scatter grid in a safe place. 4. Check that the icon for anti-scatter grid inserted has a line through it. This indicator appears on the left monitor (see also screenshot below). Install the anti-scatter grid in the reverse order of its removal: Push in the anti-scatter grid and tighten the knurled screw. 2. Check that the icon for anti-scatter grid inserted does not have a line through it. This indicator appears on the left monitor. In this case, the sign will not change although the grid is inserted.
